Yeah, not going to happen luicd is a small start up, and the majority of the core team went to work at playground.

Established in February 2011 by senior developers from Bizarre Creations, Lucid has set itself out to be a small team with big ideas and the skills to deliver them.
Our performance over the past few years has proved we are just that. We’ve successfully won contracts to build dynamic new IP, settled ourselves into a shiny new office in the heart of Liverpool’s creative quarter and completed a number of technically challenging work-for-hire contracts.
The team
With almost 40 staff at Lucid, each with unrivalled experience, our team have worked on some of the biggest gaming franchises to come out of the UK in the last 20 years. From PS1 classics such as Formula 1 97, the BAFTA winning Project Gotham Racing franchise through to recent blockbusters such as Blur and James Bond 007 : Blood Stone we’ve contributed to some of biggest selling games of the last two decades.

They actually put some work into a sequel. I'd post a link to the blog with the two videos but it was removed. It looked pretty cool though.
The first video showed some vehicles driving through the rain with some intense visual effects tearing up the street. Another video showed a track set in Dubai where, at one point, your vehicle scaled the side of a building.

somewhat akin to MS owning Forza and getting Playground to make Horizon? but hey... speculation, right...
was simply pointing out that a dev who started nearly 2 years ago and with nearly 40 staff is not something i'd consider to be a start up and i don't know if they have more ex Bizarre staff than Playground.

Actually looking at Playground, although its hard to say, because they only list previous employer, but Codemasters looks like it got gutted by Playground more than anyone. A few lead artist moved from Bizarre to PG. PG has about 80 staff. Looking at Lucids game list however, doesn't inspire me to believe they are in a position to give us PGR.
