FPS with open map

Does anyone know of a first person shooter with a open map in single player?

With open map I mean a map that let's you use any angle of a attack that you prefer. Most games, like Battlefield, are open in multiplayer, but only let's you follow a single narrow path in single player.

Many years ago on the PC there was a series of games called Delta Force. They were a great example of open maps and let you plan and execute your attack any way you wanted.

On the PS3 the only ones that come to mind are Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and Red River. Far Cry 2 and 3 and to a certain extent Crysis 2

What about MAG? It is multiplayer but still open world or at least gives the illusion of it being open world

Thanks for the quick replies and suggestions. I will look in to them and see if they fit me.

Fallout is a great game and I have played many, many hours. The game I am looking for should still have missions like free hostage, assassinate someone, capture some equipment, blow something up etc.

It doesn't need to be a huge open map like fallout or assassins creed, it is enough if it covers the mission at hand.

Far Cry 3 is pretty much the only one this gen. Could be more but I dont know any additional ones.
