Awkward...I had a hard time making it work, didn't seem like I was blocking. I also had a problem trying to force the action that allows you to get the recovery item from the enemies. For an action hack and slash game, its really new.

Yeah, you have to be quick with the circle button. Problem is that it doesn't always appear when you're slicing up enemies. I'm guessing it's only when you manually slice them apart. Blocking doesn't always work for me either.

I'm am so glad I took the time to DL the demo. This went from a "day 1 buy" to an "I wouldn't waste my time playing it". For such a super ninja that he's supposed to be, he's moves like Solid Snake's dead lifeless body.

I suggest evryone try the demo, this game is nothing like it appears.

It's actually just hold the L stick in any direction and square simultaneously. Took a while for me to figure it out, but once you get the hang of it, it gets pretty intuitive. Works best for me to press the L stick up with the square button.

This game has become a day fucking ONE purchase after having mastered the demo. The gameplay takes a lot of time getting used to but once you do it just feels so rewarding!

So is this confirmed to be cannon? Sort of defeats the purpose of MGS4's ending if it is. Hopefully there's a secret bonus ending showing Old snake reversing his ageing process and becoming young again.

It's set after MGS4 so it's canon.

I couldn't get into it honestly. It wasn't bad but I just didn't enjoy it as well as the seemed to be broken block system but I can see it is verified what actually has to be done to block in here. Gonna pass on this one.

The only thing good about it being canon and set after MGS4 is that the Snake arc is already over at this point. Not that I don't like what MGR is...it's just so much of a departure from the Snake arc in personality that I'm glad it's not affected by it.

Love it. Wasn't really expecting anything from the game, and it's become a most likely day one buy. Fast paced action, awesome boss battles, good soundtrack, a storyline with dialogue that seems to be taking the "it's so bad that it's good" approach complete with generic characters lol, I love everything about it.

Sure, technically it is canon, but it's far enough in the future that it doesn't matter at all whether or not it's canon. Seriously, nobody should be in this for the story. It's just a beat-em-up and don't expect any more than that. But it's a beat-em-up done well.

Agreed. This is gonna be another Platinum Games gem. They're on fire. The combat is soooo right
