- +Gorgeous, lush graphics
- +Wonderful, expertly written and performed soundtrack
- +Excellent story that’s familiar, yet markedly unique
- +Engrossing battle system that takes influence from two great JRPG series
- +Requires at least 40 hours to beat, and perhaps twice that to do everything

Impressive. I'm looking forward to this game.

Not surprised really. The game just oozes quality from my experience playing it at Eurogamer and then the demo that was released not too long ago.
The world map music, ahhhh

So excited. Have a feeling it won't top Dragon Quest VIII in my book, but I know it'll be really awesome (:

Good to hear. Games Master UK and OPM also rated it pretty highly.

You had better hope you never make a discerning remark in the negative based on design choices of a game ever again then.
I'll be sure to single it out.
I'm not going to enjoy a game if I don't like its art direction. And I know you wouldn't either.
The 'Messiah Child' trope as I like to call it, with little kids somehow inexplicably having the means and ability to save the world, has never been something I've been fond of. Unfortunately Japan is rife with it.Last edited by RedOrb_Collector; 01-16-2013 at 07:35.

I played the demo and even made a youtube video of it if anyone is interested. I have to say, it was okay, different but I would give the game a rent just from the first impression I got from the demo. It had a unique fighting system and some interesting dialogue and it got me somewhat interested.
Here is a link of the video I made of the demo if anyone is interested:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nefuf...cLaQD&index=13

So, does it really deserve such high ratings?

I haven't played the full game yet but I don't see a reason why it shouldn't.
All of the reviews I've seen so far have been positive, the lowest score, at the moment, coming from Game Informer with a 7/10.Last edited by Blacksite; 01-17-2013 at 18:03.

The only negative I had to say about the demo was the time limit that made me rush through it..something that will be voided in the full release.
I preordered my copy off Amazon yesterday. Comes with two extra Familiars Griffy and Flutterby..

Trophy-licious!

Played the demo, Felt like it was aimed at 10 year olds. One for the Pokemon crowd me thinks.
