Are you getting a PS4 right away? Play a backlog of games on your PS3 first? Same with the new Xbox, going to get it right away or not yet? Getting both on release day? Do you suddenly hate video games and won't buy a new console?
I'm holding off for a while whenever new consoles come. I have a ps3 and 360 right now but I want to narrow down to one console next gen. I have quite a few games to catch up on anyway and this hobby has gotten pretty expensive.

Originally, I was thinking PS4 only, day one, if it had free online. I was thinking I really only need one console. But I am just delaying the inevitable. I will want an Xbox too. So I have officially decided to get both consoles on day one. My use of the PS3/360 will be dead right away, unless the new consoles debut with crap games.

i might play tic tac toe with a chicken on top of my PS4 and Xbox720
On topic:
I might actually just buy the Xbox720 and get around 4 games for it, plus play my Xbox360 games on it and also check out what features the new dashboard will have
Thanks to Spyrde/Sylar

Back in the PS2 & Original Xbox days I had both systems, and back then my Xbox kept locking up and even gave me a bluescreen at one point when I was in the middle of a game and because of that along with all the production issues the Xbox360 had I decided to completely skip it and only get a PS3. Now that Microsoft seems to have the production issues corrected I will probably end up getting both the PS4/Orbis and the next gen Xbox on launch day. Hopefully both have a great game lineup when they launch, I am looking forward to seeing what Sony & Microsoft bring to the table, this is going to be an exciting year and hopefully we will all have a really fun 2013 holiday season if they both come out!

Whichever launches first, whether it be the PS4 or the 720 will be a day one purchase. That console will hold me over for the next few months until I have the mula to buy the other one! Next gen cannot come fast enough, and not because of lack of games but it is TIME for new hardware!

8 years and counting!

1: if there are games i really want to play ( exclusives, multiplatform will always be on PC for me now)
If not I will wait, last thing i want is to pay $400 to $600 for console that could have reliability problems. I hope to wait long enough for a 2nd version of the ps4/720.

I'll wait and see what they have to show at E3. Not going to jump on the day one bandwagon when we don't know of any confirmed launch titles.

I'll probably get PS4 when DUST 514 gets ported over.

I won't switching right away. Especially since I had both a 360 and PS3 die on me, I am waiting until it is damn sure there won't be any issues with the consoles. I'll end up with both, but I'll wait for the libraries to flesh out a bit (and price).

I will be buying both consoles day 1, unless they come out very close to each other then i'l need to decide which to go for...right now i prefer the Xbox.

Since I don't play games as much as i used to (Steam rating less than 1.0 when 2 years ago it was always 10) and had 2 PS3 die on me its unlikely I will spend hundreds on a system that is designed only for 1 thing.

I'd be tempted to wait, mainly just incase there are any issues to begin with and they usually introduce deals and offers after a year or so to keep sales up, also I probably won't be able to afford it straight away anyway haha. I usually buy handhelds near the day of release but they're cheaper and usually have less firmware issues compared to consoles.
I still want a wii u but I can't afford one yet, no doubt they'll get some decent deals going soon!

I want to finish all my PS3 backlog before getting a PS4 but we all know that as soon as I start seeing those next-gen console games, I'll be in line day one for it.

I don't like any fat console, so I am not sure about it. Don't they look uglier?

hopefully PS4 can play PS3 games.
I'll try and go PC/PS4 and get through PS3 library of games while i hold off on Xbox 3 as long as I can.
anyways i'll still wait 3-6 months before purchase though

For the first time since the PS2 release I will NOT be buying any console at launch this generation.
This time I'm going to sit back and see how the products actually work. Been burned on the PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360 with hardware failures, and I'm not interested in repeating that again. I'll also wait and see if one of the companies does a big price drop in the first year like Sony did with the PS3.
I also bought a Wii at launch last gen, but haven't even looked at a Wii U.
I'm finding myself gaming on the PC almost exclusively right now, and until I start seeing a REALLY compelling reason to jump in and buy new console hardware, I'm happy to continue playing on the PC until I'm sure the prices aren't changing and the hardware is solid and reliable.
