Certainly an honorable thing to do, all intentions in mind. Though I hope he realizes he probably skeeves a lot of people out.

Good for him.
People need to get over themselves and realize that he's not causing anyone harm and learn to accept it.

He might not be, but if you had 10 guys like him and 1 was a crazy ass mofo could you really tell who it was before 10, 20, 30 innocent people were gunned down? I assume not.
The problem with guns is, crazy people can look perfectly normal. Even with stricter gun laws crazy people will still have acess to guns as America is flooded with them.

Ok, but that is still more than you see in the US. The Military is not allowed to be used as law enforcement in the usa. And it is rare to see police officers openly carrying such weapons outside of certain situations (like a standoff, or event where SWAT would be called in).
That is very weak reasoning. Seeing as there are several situations for police to use unmarked cars the same can be said for plainclothes/undercover officers.

Swiss military soldiers are allowed to bring with them the swiss main assault rifle unloaded. When I take the train to Zürich to get to my school I see many times soldiers with their baggage and the assault rifle. But they are the only ones and have to wear their official uniform. Special security in airports and big shopping centers can also carry sub-machine guns. Those are the only ones who can do so.

Just like he said. He showing people that weapons are not a threat if it's being handle by a law-abiding citizen. I see no problem in this. Plus an AR-15 is not considered an assault rifle at all.

It's a good thing I live in the U.S isn't. I want to live in a place where I know I can carry a concealed weapon to protect myself. Everyone feels different about it, but you can't do much about it. You can only create more strict laws for people to own a gun. That's about it.
