I welcome new hardware, but at the same time I have yet to play many of the top notch games from this generation. Far Cry 3, AC3, and Hitman to name a few. This generation is still pumping out great games, but I will still be in line on launch day for the PS4/720.

I keep going back and forth. I'll say that I'm not interested but I eat up any hint of next gen news, rumors or not. Ultimately, though, unless it's something revolutionary, then I think I'll wait a couple years. Save some money and allow the industry to work out some of the kinks. Besides, there will probably be a new model and a price drop a couple of years down the road. I'll certainly watch gaming news and new releases like a hawk so I know what to pick up when I do.

I still have a lot of games from this generation (even a few from last gen...) that I haven't finished anyway.

Honestly not really. I started on nes and peaked through the ps1/ps2 era and dropped off from there. I've always kept up with gaming but it's only been an on and off kind of thing until lately again. I still play a lot of my old favorites and discover gems from past generations often. At a glance I'm not into a lot of the games that coming are out this gen. Not a big wrpg, fps, or mmo/rts fan and those are pretty prevalent. A lot of the action games essentially stem from the original God of war which I wasn't huge on either. Resident evil's gone downhill with 6 IMO, but I only really liked 4 and 5 anyway so i can't judge too much. Jrpg's look ridiculous now with their animu tweeny bopper lead characters and mostly fit into a style I can't relate to. Never cared for tactical rpgs like disgaea. Didn't get into persona and its ilk either.

Not saying I'm old school and only miss the old games at all. There are games that I enjoy and I'm starting to broaden my horizons. I've been out of the loop of regular gaming for awhile now so I've missed a lot and haven't let anything really grow on me. Just finally bought a ps3 a month ago. I had one briefly a few years ago but sold it, real life has taken over a lot for me.

I'm loving Demon and Dark souls, replaying re5 gold, ff13 and 13-2 are meh, deus ex is good so far.

As someone who somewhat understands developer's complaints about needing new technology, it's hard for them to keep being creative when the technology was already maxed out a while ago. Not only that, 512MB of RAM only goes so far with a game console.

I would always say that if I have the best I wouldn't care about the rest. But the best just won't be one. It's a new stuff every year. So I'll care for the new console everytime.
