Well, yeah gimmicks don't sell me. But they all have them to differentiate. Sony tried Move and 3D. Microsoft tried Kinect and Apps. Wii has tried waving Wii-motes and hand held tablet controllers.

They are all trying to find that niche. The Wii hit one. Now the others are scrambling to find the next. If Sony and MS only appealed to hardcore gamers and dropped gimmicks, sadly we would not have any more consoles.

At this point the next xbox have the best selling points for a console Windows8 Kinect 2.0 with Augmented Reality Glasses Illumirom and possible xbox surface tablet. As for specs to which console is better would rather wait to get the info from the Corporations than reading fanboy sites.

I agree with build quality, although my ps3 has been in perfect working order for the last 4 and a half years and my 360 was perfect too for like a year ( except the HDMI port stopped working halfway through) i still agree.

as a selling point it will mean bugger all when Sony do there E3 reveal after MS and show a more powerful machine, at that point... what ever MS revealed will be quickly forgotten about as Sony go onto reveal how much better multi-plats will run on there system.

Yeah sounds like Bullshit. This is a Microsoft research project. Kinect started out as one in 2005 and it wasn't commercially ready until 2009.

Yeah I get wat youre saying. But publishers will have little doubt the next xbox will sell very well, particularly in the US and UK so they might bend over clauses and shit. Parity across platforms

If Sony do have a more powerful (easier to develop for) console then they'll likely hope to show that off using their first party studios
