Capcom addresses why Resident Evil: Revelations isn't coming to Vita

Earlier this week Capcom announced that its formerly 3DS-exclusive Resident Evil: Revelations would be coming to PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PC in an enhanced version. As many pointed out, the Vita was omitted from this list. But why?

Capcom product manager Mike Lunn responded to such queries on the US PlayStation Blog, stating that it was a technical issue with porting to the platform.

"When we were developing Revelations for new platforms we really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound, etc. This type of setup really helps players get sucked into the horror vibe and enjoy the game to its fullest extent," Lunn stated in a comment. A big screen experience is all well and good, but this totally ignores the fact that the game was originally designed for a system with a smaller screen than the Vita and even less horsepower.

Lunn later added, "3DS and PS Vita infrastructure let alone developing games for them are extremely different beasts. Even just the screens as you mention are completely different resolutions/functions."

After that he continued to direct people to his first response.

Given that there are loads of games that exist on both platforms, this talk of different resolutions and surround sound seems like it isn't telling the full story. Perhaps it has more to do with the Vita's poor sales, eh?

    via Eurogamer.

Capcom not liking the Vita would easily debunk the Monster Hunter 4 rumor.

What a load of crap. Simply put: Capcom sees no money on the Vita at the moment, so they chose not to go that way.

And who cares about capcoms garbage. They have failed to develop a proper Resident game and what they do. Just keep moving forward or backward with these useless titles and its story.

Guys, don't badmouth Capcom. You all ought to be really grateful for Capcom actually, it does a lot of stuff for us gamers and y'all are such haters that y'all don't even see it. It makes copious amounts of iterations of its games so that YOU can always have the most up to date version. Really, what other company offers 2 or 3 extra additions of its games? THINK ABOUT IT! Capcom understands that life is busy so its even so kind as to put the DLC on the disc so that you don't have to waste time downloading it...and for this it gets shit? Fuckin' ingrates. Lets not forget to thank Capcom for totally changing one of its most legendary titles and father of survival horror, Resident Evil. It takes a big pair of balls to shit all over the DNA of this franchise in order to appeal to simple minded, more casual gamers...and y'all have the nerve to question Capcom's words then it tries to explain why it isn't porting a handheld game to another handheld? I WON'T have it! Next badmouther gets an infraction! You#ve been warned.

Capcom should not have said anything at all. That made no sense at all.

They seemed to screw a lot of things up over the past few years...

They are right though, the Vita does have a smaller screen than a tv.
