Want To Write About DUST 514 Or The EVE Universe For PSU's News Page?

To my fellow PSU Directors and Mercenaries.

Thank you very much for signing up to PSU's official DUST 514 corporation. I'm sincerely grateful to each and every member for joining our community and I hope that I (and we as a team) can create a great corporation and EVE Universe culture at PSU.

As some of you may know (If you read the mission statement in our corp thread), PSU is going back to being a community driven PlayStation news site. What this means is that we want the voice of our community to augment that of our current writing team in delivering news and features to the front page. The return to this idea started about 8 months ago when the editor team drafted a bunch of us community guys into the site's content team. More recently, we have talked of turning our Community Review section into a portal to the front page for aspiring writers. It is a training and proving ground for talent. We will, in the not so distant future, open this up to general features with incentive rewards for the most popular pieces.

Now...After talking with Adam, the executive editor at PSU.com, I'm happy to offer PSU corporation members who have the desire to write about DUST 514 or EVE Online the chance to have their work published. Writing about the EVE Universe for PSU is my passion but I would love for anyone who would like to contribute with me to do so. So,for those who are interested...

Here's how it works:

1) Pitch an idea either in this thread or to me via PM. If the concept falls in-line with the general style of PSU's content, I'll green light it and it's time to get writing!

2) Once you have finished your piece, again, submit it here or to me via PM (if you are a bit shy).

3) I will then edit it. When it's necessary, I will consult with you privately about the article if there are large portions that need editing. I will offer an alternative or give you direction in how to correct it yourself so it remains 100% you.

4) Work that goes live will be immortalised in our DUST 514 media thread under "PSU Coverage".

This new initiative is very much in its infancy and I will be tweaking and reviewing it to make it as badass as possible. PSU Covert Derailment Ghost Squad will have both a presence in the New Eden Universe as well as a voice in the gaming world via PlayStation Universe.

Would something like 'top ten tips from top ten players', be along the lines of what you are looking for.

Yeah, that kind of stuff is great. The focus of the articles is to make the eve universe better known and to make dust more accessible, so articles along those lines is what we're after. You can reach the top 10 players?

Sounds good! That would be an awesome feature to have. If you've been reading PSU for awhile you'll more or less know our standard so go for it.

Since you are after the fan site banner i will start sending out questions too the top players in dust. Have draft by sunday? depending on how many responses+ how quick they come in.

That would be awesome! Well the competition runs from the 7th of Feb till the end of the month so there is a lot of time still but yeah it'd be an AWESOME addition to the line up.

DUST 514 supports mouse and keyboard...perhaps it has copy/paste functionality.

I haven't gotten enough responses to do an article on the top tens tips. And being a coward i dont want to spam the top ten people for fear of their wrath.

That's OK, thanks for trying.

We can still do our own tips article if we want. Also, even things like your heavy guide, with a bit of attention, could be published on the front page.

Man, there is some really cool news and I can't wait to share it with everyone...I think it might help give people motivation to write about DUST 514.
