Considering the Medal of Honor Warfighter day 1 editions had an included 'Beta access to Battlefield 4' I'd say it's real and official.

EA is "aiming" to release Battlefield 4 between April 2013 and March 2014, it has confirmed.

The announcement came during EA's Q1 2013 earnings relations call, where the firm discussed its future plans for the Battlefield and Medal of Honor series'.

"We are aiming to have the next product in the Battlefield franchise in [Fiscal 14]," announced EA Labels president Frank Gibeau.

The FY14 release window suggests that Battlefield 4 may release during October 2013, where EA has chosen to release its AAA shooters since the launch of Medal of Honor in October 2010.

That's from July 31st. Another source from late August states that October/November 2013 is the expected release. I'll be interested to see other ways to get into the BETA, though it will likely only be to PS+ subs, in which case I'll pass.

I didn't get BF3, just haven't been in the online shooter mood, but I might end up getting BF4. Missing all the fun I used to have. I'd get BF3 now, but I'd rather start fresh around the time of everyone else, plus I know I'll get side-tracked once GTA comes out.

So far we know the beta is coming later this year, so we could be a looking at a Q3 2013 / 2014 release.

So going how BF3 went, October/November 2013 is going to be the release of the paid beta, and its going to be a huge miracle if the voice chat works 1000% at launch. Then its going to take them about 100 days before they finally decide to fix the voice chat(no rush right? Most people on PSN don't use headset anyway so why rush it), and then after about another 4 months, the paid beta will become a full 100% finished game.

Of course the Premium will be available at launch. Nobody really likes doing patches but everyone likes being paid up front for future DLC.

My voice chat doesnt work at all now it will work in the menu when I join a friend and will work in co-op but not on MP rush or conquest ect it shows my speaker against my name but nothing happens it used to though about 2 weeks ago

There is no voice chat at all in the PC version.

Things that piss me off with BF3.

• Spawn facing the floor
• have to Jump over rocks twigs stones steps is annoying
• vaulting over stuff causes players to be invincible at that moment.
• poor sound positioning i.e cannot hear players from behind and far away things sound like they are right next to me.
• Some buttons stop responding for some reason or another, this is easily reproduced but not limited to. (might be able to reproduce on PS3)

Sprint forwards (W+Shift)
while sprinting forward aim down sight (mouse 2)
keep sprint pressed while aiming down sight
let go of mouse 2
Now you have to let go of shift and reapply to be able to sprint again.

• Mouse support is funky
• largely garbage netcode
• spawn protection
• takes too long to stand up
• inconsistencies in gadget slots i.e xbow for support

doubt I will bother with number 4.

Sounds rough, maybe picked a good time to take a break from the online shooting scene. Even just no voice sounded like a pain.

Not sure ill bother with bf4, honestly. I kind of played and left BF3 much faster then expected. From here on out I dont think Ill bother with mostly MP focused games unless I get them free or a gift (Which is how I ended up with the last three CODs lol)

Also seems BF4 isnt coming out till "next year", according to an article at IGN

It has been confirmed by EA that there is BF4.

EA has confirmed that a new Battlefield game will be released next year. During an earnings call for the third quarter of its 2013 fiscal year, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau said EA "will be launching a Battlefield game next year” and said EA is "very excited to show you guys more detail on that coming soon."

Gibeau didn’t elaborate beyond that or mention Battlefield 4 specifically, though he did add that “we're not announcing an annualization of Battlefield at this time.”

Preivously, EA advertised a Battlefield 4 beta as a pre-order promotion for Medal of Honor Warfighter on Origin last year. Later, DICE said the beta will be available in other ways and specified that Battlefield 4 will stay in a modern setting.

So yeah Battlefield 4 will be released next year 2014, hopefully for next generation consoles.
