I think it may have been a case of not keeping 3rd partys completely up to date with what Sony's engineers and their 1st party/ICE team were working towards in their own labs

With all the flak PS3 got from 3rd party devs through this gen, I'm glad they've made their next system easier to work with and provided better tools (assuming the most recent rumours are true ). I was confident they would go that route anyways since the Vita is apparently easy to work with - even easier than iOS if one dev is to be believed lol

The PS2, PSP and PS3 were all unconventional with the PS3 being the worst 'offender'. The PS1 if I remember correctly was a dev friendly console as is currently the Vita.

I have not kept up with rumours, but my understanding is Sony showed specs at CES? This where all the 1.8tf vs 1.2 thing came about?
Also my understanding is, MS did something in terms of change late nov and pushed to have silicon out in dec?

So, given we know dev kits for the ps4 launched recently (like latest specs).
When was the last time a new 720 dev
Kit was released?

as far as i'm aware these specs have come from forum insiders, and then confirmed by VGleaks, with some extra padding on top.

seems genuine enough, and i do agree with the relative performances of what we know so far, but it isn't the whole picture. there were many other options on the VGleaks poll that may have given us useful information - i see no reason to assume durango is completely underpowered without finding out what they are. although doom and gloom is clearly more fun

Here is one reason I think the PS4/Orbis is definitely coming out this year:

PS1 stopped production on Mar 23, 2006 to free up resources for PS3 to be released in Nov 2006...

PS2 stopped production worldwide on Jan 4th, 2013...almost 3 months earlier this time...and my guess is to free up resources for PS4/Orbis production and since it is almost 3 months earlier than last time and there won't be any diode or yield issues (hopefully) there should be a ton of consoles at launch! Agree/Disagree?
