Yup exactly. It's definitely a smart move, because there is so much going on during E3 and while obviously people would talk a lot about the PS4, it would also have the next Xbox taking away some of the attention from it. So have a huge announcement conference by yourself before E3, then show off all the games and stuff at E3. I'm sure Microsoft will be doing the same thing before E3 as well.

I don't usually let these things get to me but this one feels like that announcement we've been waiting for. If its not the next gen Playstation then I'm personally going to Sony headquarters to kick all their asses for getting me all hyped.

I'm hoping they show some tech demos off and maybe just some teases of games that will be shown at E3. It will be a bit depressing if its just "Hey, its the PS4" Show the console on the table and then end the conference.

Cut the price of the ps3. It has a bunch of games coming out. Launch the ps4 and let the ps3 pull a ps2.
Announce games at E3 along with price point. FF7 REMAKE!

I think ps4 is very likely, that gaikai service could be properly revealed too ( what SONY will do with it)

Yeah youre right. These "meetings" have been hardware related

I'm really really excited to see what the console and controller themselves will actually look like. It will no doubt deliver great games but man, Sony's phones and tablets for this year are mindblowingly sexy so here's hoping the PS4 follows a similar trend!

I'm really hoping they pull a Nintendo and make the controller for the PS4 backwards compatible with the PS3 Dualshocks. I hate spending money on new controllers to play multiplayer.

Haha. Hey, we're a media organization. I actually got the invite a few minutes before it went up on the PS Blog so I thought it was just for media. My guess is a media and analyst part with a select few lucky guests after.

Really, though, I have no more details I can share. But, know PSU will be there to report everything!

Unusual for Sony to put together an announcement like this, even if it is a teaser. Anybody doing frame by frame study yet? It seems like it could just be some official statement like "Today, the first day of the next Playstation future, Sony is proud to announce the PS4 is born!". No reveal, no specs, no pictures. Reveal and hardware specs at GDC, pictures and alpha devkit at E3 2013, launch in spring 2014.

did you notice that the light that hit the triangle, square, and x where hit by a beam of light representing there color. The circle got hit by yellow so what I can conclude the new ps4 controller's circle is now yellow compared to red that is in use now.
