I honestly don't know if they are willing to make that mistake. The info is a big vague right now. It could be just extra features added. Much like the Plus added cloud saves.

Also it said most. That is a bit unnerving but honestly if I can have trophies, play online, and talk to my friends I won't have any problem. If the current model of online is the basic for next gen PS I won't care. It will just be extra stuff imo. Only time will tell.

I don't know why Sony would want to screw up their free to play online advantage they currently have over Xbox. That would be a very dumb move.

The leak says "most" online features will require a subscription. Sounds to me like basic online play will still be free while extra online features will be subscription based. I'm betting cross game chat will be one of those features. Fine by me as long as basic online play is still free.

Yeah pretty much the same way I feel about it. Although I hope Cross Game chat won't fall into that category. Would be a shame if you had to pay just to do that. Hopefully this will all be detailed tomorrow night so we can get some clarity.

This is what I'm hoping. It would be stupid for Sony to make you start having to pay to play online, when they currently have that advantage over Xbox. Free to play online is a reason some have switched from 360 to PS3.

And for someone like me that only plays online games occasionally (much prefer a great single player experience), this would be horrible because I would be paying for a service that I rarely use. I wouldn't do it.

Same here. The only game I really play online is Black Ops 2 right now. I don't want to pay just to play that.

Not so surprised they go do subscription and they saw how 360's subscription system works and it works and def gonna make them more profile instead of losing $$$. If they want to profit from gaikai and have a respective service they will charge. Trust me, Sony is charging.

already a ps+ subscriber and it'll most likely stay that way...anyways if the free online is still there and messaging/chatting then all is good. if the premium part will be access your console from other devices then thats cool too

I wouldn't get my hopes up about cross game chat being free. Just the basic online play will be. Sony will be charging for any extra online features. They may even charge to use the apps like Netflix,etc.

As always offline single player gaming is why I am a gamer. Hopefully that won't be fucked with by online security checks or other related DRM headaches PC gaming throws at us.

That nickel and diming for stuff could get them in hot water. Considering those types of apps are free on all other formats.

Yeah I agree. I think the apps that we already use for free will most likely stay free.

I predict that gaming online will be free, and access to apps will be free, but just about everything else will be part of the sub...Which I'm cool with. I think Sony understands the power that free online gaming holds.

Trust me, they won't be charging for online anytime soon. That is one area where they have MS beat and they know that. That and the fact that their subscription service actually rewards the buyer unlike Gold on Xbox which just offers the free content that Sony already provide and they still have the audacity to stick adverts on the interface.

Sony may add additional features to PS+ (crossgame chat), but they will never take away features that were already free..and they have stated that many times before.
