Would that be a WW release, Japan only? Or the best solution, a NA release given the fact most great first party right now are Western orientated (ND, GG etc..)

Which advantages are you talking about? Sony and Microsoft both have their die hards. I could actually see MS going the Wii route for their new console and bank on the success of the Kinect in every box to move a ton of units, with a slightly less powerful system not solely based on graphic capabilities in order to appeal to a wider audience. Im pretty sure backwards compatablilty with 360 and the nextbox are going to go completely out the window since 360 uses the HD DVD's and nextbox will probably going the route of Blu-Ray having become the HD media standard, making it somewhat more plausible, however unlikely that the PS4 will be capable of backwards compatability.

What i really think is that this next generation of consoles will be a lot more even in reguards to sales, with the PS4 and the NextBox (for lack of a better sounding name) will probably be launching within a matter of months of each other rather than one having a year head start. Even as far as graphics go, this generation is going to look gorgeous, comparable to to what high end gaming PC's at maximum settings right now can do, if not slightly better at first. We all know PC is far ahead of consoles, but thats because you can change parts on a PC, you cant on a console so it is what it is.

Im also hoping the price points are good. Im okay with spending 4-500 on a console that im going to have for years, but im not shelling out 6-700 bucks day one, no sir. If theyre both around 399-499, im getting both, but im getting the PS4 first.

I'm talking about early gen advantages that the 360 held of the ps3. Price advantage, Exclusives/timed exclusives due to the ps3 launching late and being hard to develop for.

Just don't work yourselves up with a 2013 launch RUMOR, then start wailing "DELAYSTATION! DELAYSTATION" when it turns out to be a 2014 launch. There are many reasons why a 2013 launch doesn't make economic sense, when the only reason for a 2013 launch is emotion. Sony would have to be preparing for manufacturing this summer to have enough launch units for the end of the year and that is rushing it, with many potentials for production flub-ups. It would also mean they have gone far beyond alpha kits, past beta kits, and would actually have pre-production units in hand. This is very doubtful. Also, Sony has always used E3 for projected launch dates and there is nothing to indicate that won't be the case this time also. A reveal is big enough news as it is. Why pile a launch date on top of it?
