I hope the game is good, because Dead Space 2 was amazing. One of my favorite single players for the PS3.

The demo did nothing for me. The first game was the only one I thoroughly enjoyed.

That's kind of surprising. Although I guess i shouldn't be too surprised. Third installments are usually subjected to me scrutiny. That's the point when the freshness wears off unless you completely refine. Guess I'll see for myself next week.

They are right. I have the game and the human part fighting is kind boring as they go after Issac. Overall, to any one those who have played Dead Space 1 and 2. They won't be much impressed with the game as it doesn't deliver much something new nor give any new experience. For me, I didn't want to get the game but I didn't like Hitman and the new Mickey Mouse so, I had to trade in and got Dead Space. Online is not on yet because I have tried to redeem the code but it won't let me as the servers are offline.

The atmosphere in Dead Space 2 is way better and more scary. In Dead Space 3, it feels more its in fantasy world. You will notice that if you have played Dead Space 1 and 2 as they will give more scary feeling as its fully survival horror due to the environment that you are being surrounded. In Dead Space 3, those zombies I would call them or whatever thier names are. They don't like much have changed or have a new look. Same enemies that you saw In Dead 2 are in 3 and you know how to kill them so easily.

PSU's review is up for your viewing pleasure --

I'm a massive fan of Dead Space but i've been worried about the third game, and Ernest's review here pretty much confirmed those fears. Action-oriented, introduction of generic human baddies, etc. Hopefully it won't be too bad but i'm not in a rush to buy this just yet.

Just to give a correction to the OP: Game Informer actually gave Dead Space a 9.75, not 7.75.

Yes my friend and save your money. The game definitly not worth 60 dollars and I didn't pay. I have traded in Hitman and Mickey Mouse because I didn't like them so my cousin gave it to me as straight trade.

Yeah, I saw and PSU had some really good points about the game.

The reviews have been good, but not great.
Seems to hoover around 8.
I wouldn't have bought this, but... amazon offered $20 credit (again) so I purchased the game. I think I might use the $20 toward the Ratchet & Clank Collection.I talk to myself because I'm the only one whose answers I accept.

I'm currently at chapter 15 on the game, I'd rank it slightly below the 2nd one and on a par with the first one, it's got some great scary moments of the first one with all the action of the second, the part of the game when you're in a broken up junk-yard of spaceships in orbit around the planet illustrates this: all the isolation of the first with the epic scope of the second, it's awesome, the graphics, sense of atmosphere, music, sound effects, size, gameplay and weapon crafting system are all of the highest order in this third instalment. The game however does have a couple of problems: Once down on the ice planet, there's chapter after chapter of the same looking corridoors, in the same type of setting, plus you have a boss fight with the same alien THREE times, and this drags the game down slightly in the middle (don't even get me started on the offensive in-game transactions you can make with REAL money), in the second the constantly changing settings - the church, the school etc were absolutely amazing and had some genuine moments where you actually stop just to look around at the astounding scenery you were thrust into. Three doesn't have as many of those moments - it's much bleaker feeling, you can tell they've tried to make it more like the first one with a bit, well a lot of 'The Thing' thrown in for good measure. I'm enjoying immensely still and will probably give it one more playthrough. I gave the second one FOUR playthroughs and never finished the first one at all...
