So let me get this straight, they're going to release a bundle and RAISE the price for it? If this doesn't show that Nintendo's management has NO IDEA what went wrong with their launch then nothing does. If this had maintained the price point they could have moved a lot of units. This isn't going to sell better than the current consoles.

Canadian retailer Future Shop may have just leaked the very first special edition Wii U console bundle, and it's a big one.
The retailer listed the bundle online with an image and item description that together reveal its contents: the black 32GB deluxe edition Wii U console, ZombiU and Nintendo Land, the Wii U pro controller, the GamePad (duh), and a ZombiU art book, all for $399.
Look at it this way: at launch, the Wii U deluxe edition console was $350, so for $50 you'll get $110 worth of stuff (ZombiU is a $60 value while the pro controller itself is $50). Just don't assume that you can use the pro controller for ZombiU single player—it's only for the multiplayer mode, though it proves invaluable there.
Also: this has not yet been confirmed or announced by Nintendo. The listing looks official, but still.
Update: Best Buy Canada has a listing as well.

i don't get the problem. alright, its not a great deal, but a game (2?), a new pad, and a stupid book for $50 extra? seems normal to me

Unless the change their pricing strategy, the Wii U is going to flunk pretty bad! My daughter wanted one for Christmas to play Super Mario Bros. U, but I couldn't justify spending that amount of money on that system...

Depends. If it comes with Nintendoland and ZombiU, in addition to the Pro controller, then it's a good deal, since you're getting a game and controller for an extra $50. Well and that art book. But if they remove Nintendoland, then yeah, stupid.
Edit: Just actually read the post now (lol) and I see it comes with both. So I think that's a pretty good deal.

This is not a bad deal at all. Problem is that the pro controller is not really used for either of those 2 games. I have seen plenty of stupid PS3 and Xbox bundles out there. This bundle is nice for those who were wanting to buy the Deluxe Wii U, Zombi U, and a pro controller.
In fact, I actually bought all those on launch day. I would have certainly bought this bundle if it were available at the time.

I bought the pro controller with my wii u and returned it because it didn't work with the games I have.
This does seen like a pretty good deal though.

The Pro controller is completely useless. I bought one to play ZombiU and Mario U with and it isn't even compatible with them? I understand it not working with ZombiU as the screen is used for gameplay (could easily be worked around) but why not with Mario? You can use the WiiMote with that game and not the Pro controller!

UK retailers slashed them to 199 for the basic and 249.99 for the deluxe I read a story yesterday
