Finally! These guys sucked hard. Keven B was ok but damn they dropped the ball more often than not. Hopefully Sony will finally pump out more commercials and advertise their games for once.

Looks like someone has been doing their homework for the next big test! Smart move Sony. You just tried to improve one of you biggest faults this gen. Just in time for the next gen. It looks like they might be trying to get on track and right their wrongs.

Did they also hire new staff that meet up with those agencies and green light the commercials?

    Someone call Don Draper.

Thank goodness! Some of that marketing was down right awful.

Sure looks that way. Sony needs the kind of aggressive marketing that we used to see back in the PS2 days.

Advertising is great to have but difficult to employ if you don't have the games to drive your point home. Sony had better advertise those launch titles if they expect anything more than the typical launch bum rush that happens at the beginning of each generation. The console will sell gangbusters regardless of how powerful or not it is. That's just stating facts. What WILL matter is the attach rates for said launch consoles that will be in peoples' homes. As much as I loved those "creepy baby" commercials at the beginning of the PS3's life cycle, that kind of marketing just doesn't cut it in a country where the meat (footage of games) is wanted most.

I read the gaf thread on this and these guys have done some nice ads in the US. The Axe and google chrome ads were great when I saw them on youtube

I thought Sony's early marketing of the PS3 was good but was more for the veteran PS gamer getting hyped for the console. The KB ads will forever be gold.

This time around Sony has to go for the whole audience like Microsoft did with their ads.

i really liked the Europe "this is living" commercials. i thought they were pretty artistic and poetic. of course it got hate on in america because they were deemed weird.
