OHIP covers most of the important stuff. Braces and stuff that is considers cosmetic aren't covered. Glasses aren't covered (the test is). Drugs you'd need to pay on your own (subsidized). For the most part its pretty good. The missing stuff is usually covered (at least partially) by job insurance (if you get it).

You don't go for yearly checks? That seems rather unsafe.

I guess It costs him to go see the doctor just to find out he is in perfect health. It costs me nothing but I don't go unless I am ill. Last time was about 5 years ago and even then he found nothing wrong with me yet I was coughing up yelllowy brown stiky smelly sputem.

OHIP does cover drugs costs but you have to pay 1st , when taxes come you tell the government you want your money back from those drugs

Catching anything early is far easier to treat until you get viable effects. I don't think skipping checkups once a year is very smart. I mean it's once in a year...

Right now I'm actually covered under Medicaid. No complaints here. Though I don't really get sick anyways.

I don't know for arms, but when I broke me leg 3 years ago it was 8,000$. That wasn't even with surgery. The whole thing is a big joke. Welcome to America, where getting in an accident or getting sick can murder your financial stability.
