OHIP covers most of the important stuff. Braces and stuff that is considers cosmetic aren't covered. Glasses aren't covered (the test is). Drugs you'd need to pay on your own (subsidized). For the most part its pretty good. The missing stuff is usually covered (at least partially) by job insurance (if you get it).
You don't go for yearly checks? That seems rather unsafe.

I don't. The nhs has my shit covered. Never needed anything done, but if i did, i have a priority care contract.

Right now I'm actually covered under Medicaid. No complaints here. Though I don't really get sick anyways.
I don't know for arms, but when I broke me leg 3 years ago it was 8,000$. That wasn't even with surgery. The whole thing is a big joke. Welcome to America, where getting in an accident or getting sick can murder your financial stability.-No Feeble Cheering-

I'm on Statutory Sick Pay so I get my prescriptions free at the moment.
