Next Assassin's Creed Has New Hero, Time Period, Developer

he next Assassin's Creed title will take place in a new time period for the franchise, and stars a new protagonist. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said the "all-new Assassin's Creed hero, within an all new team and time period" will be "another major leap forward for the franchise" when it releases some time before April 2014.

"It is the benefit of multiple teams working on multiple chapters of the product," Guillemot said, "each getting several years to make their versions of an Assassin's Creed game."
Guillemot did not specify which "new team" is behind the development of the upcoming Assassin's Creed title, or whether it will release on current or future generation platforms.
The next chapter in Assassin's Creed III, The Tyranny of King Washington, releases on February 19.

A couple of days ago, Ubisoft registered a slew of Assassin’s Creed domains. Each has the word “initiate” in the URL.Twelve domains are now in Ubisoft’s possessions. They are:

Ubisoft has said that their next gen games will be cross platform (the first few)

hopefully in A.C III they actually killed the family leak with him and they move onto another fresh family or just focus on the ASSASIN

Hopefully they go back to what made assassins creed a great series and that's a well thought out story. AC3 was a disappointment story wise.

Hopefully this is coming to next gen and current gen. No reason to jump ship within the first year of the new consoles. Whenever they release.

I have to admit...I hated how ACIII ended. Hopefully this turns out a better game. Would love to see a game in Ancient Egypt or Feudal Japan. And some fresh blood would do this franchise some good.

well it was mentioned in the game and i believe it was with desmond's english friend that said

" Would you like to go all the way back to ancient times and see were it all started"

this might be a wee miss-quote, but a possibility for the next era of the game

A modern AC game would seem too much like your typical open-world games these days. They mentioned they wanted to stay away from overused settings.

If the next consoles are out when this releases, and it is released on the PS3, 360, and Wii U only, I would probably only play it on the Wii U or nothing at all. My PS3 will officially retire when the PS4 releases.

I'm a shocked at how many people have said the same thing.

I do not want a modern setting because I enjoy playing is an interesting historical setting. I can learn a bit about the period which I like.

A modern day one would just not make it feel like an ASSASSIN'S CREED game

were is an ancient times one, makes more sense and you get to learn history and old tech to defeat your enemy without guns or cars lol

An ancient Rome AC game would be a day-one purchase for me.

If not an ancient time period, I'd also like to see:
French Revolution
Victorian England
Feudal Japan

FRENCH ONE would fit perfectly in with the OLD HISTORY UBISOFT covers

But so would any period, were to go and who to be, that's the question
