Retrospective look at the PS3, why did you buy one?

In all seriousness, I bought it for the same reason on day one and my PS3 is still going strong and never disappointed. Looking forward to PS4

had(have) both a PS1 and 2, so the 3 is a no brainer. Also I wanted GTA4 for it

I got the PS3 just because I was single, just moved out on my own and the PS2 was so influential to me.
I think the first game I got with it was Folklore, Guitar hero (maybe?), and I think Oblivion.
