Change of Leadership roles

I have an extremely exciting announcement to make to all of you -

Effective Immediately, Steven Williamson will be taking over from me as the General Manager (read: big boss) of PSU.

From the outset of me getting involved at the site, I always knew that my role day-to-day would eventually be replaced. My purpose between PSU and the owners was to act as an interim leader until such a point as we can identify a member of the staff that was capable of taking the reigns. Though all of the staff are absolutely phenomenal, Steven has the multi-faceted skills necessary to hold this position. It’s always a tricky one to fill, as the person needs to understand Content, Community, Monetization and Technology.

Steven has been extremely hard working over the last two years, fiercely turning around the revenue side of the business. His work has been tireless, and he has really succeeded at beginning to bring PSU back to the glory of its former self.

This change should do a lot to empower the website to act more as a standalone unit, and be less held back by delays that might be seen on the back-end. Steven will have the authority to make decisions, and to help guide the long-term strategy in the direction it should go. This will give all of you a lot more opportunity to be able to really dig in and figure out what that needs to be - and someone who is much more available to have those discussions with.

I'm absolutely 100% confident that this is going to be the greatest change we've ever made to the business, and this should mark the beginning of an extremely bright future for PSU. Steven has all the necessary skills to help you guys, and about 95% more available time than me.

So anyway, without further ado - welcome your new General Manager, and with that I fade off into the sunset.

Worry not though, I'm not going anywhere - I’ll still be handling all kinds of back-end stuff, as well as helping push the money-making side of the business forward. I’ll also be pretty active in the Dust forums, as I’m planning on taking a touch of spare time and plowing it directly into that game.

Thanks everyone, this place is truly wonderful, and I can't tell you how honoured I am to be a part of it.

Steven is a total pro and has some awesome journalism chops in addition to his behind-the-scenes work. I've been working with him for nearly five years and I know that he's the bloke to propel PSU into the stratosphere.

This is definitely a time to be excited everyone!

On a side note, Doug, I really enjoyed working with you directly during the first year or so of your time as GM of PSU. Hopefully we can still keep in touch.

Mr B is a director of the PSU GHOSTS! His ass isn't going anywhere

Thanks guys! Chuffed to be at the reigns at PSU. I've loved this site for a long time and now I can dedicate myself to helping us grow and improve things.

I'm always around and do read the forums and everyone who contributes to the community are just as important as our writers. This really is going to be a great year for the site. And I hope to address many of the issues that we've had over the last 12 months.
