I remember Rodney Mullen, and I think the Z-boys were more in the 70's if I remember correctly. I use to follow Tony Hawk (of course), Powell and Steve Peralta and one of my favorite skaters is Andy MacDonald! If you are wondering what board I had in that picture, it was a Schmitt Stix Lucero X2:

Is that your board or just a similar model? That must've been great to see them in the height of their careers. Did you ever enter any competitions?

That is just a pic from Google of the board that I had, I have no clue where my actual board is at the moment, the last time I saw it my nephew was using it several years ago, but that is exactly what it looked like on the bottom. I remember reading Thrasher magazine and all that as well, I still have a bunch of that magazines at my parents house! I never entered any competitions, but I did have a couple friends that skated semi-pro at the time, but they never went on to anything big.

I heard this on The Jason Ellis Show the other day and I was shocked. Honestly regardless if it is not a very popular sport in the olympics, it's part of the original lineup. Way to kill your traditions. I'm sure there are other sports that could have been cut. There are some dumb ass sports in the olympics.
