Hopefully it doesn't sound atrocious like the Wii's didif it is a speaker. Although i don't know what its use would be.

That's what I was thinking as well, and have it come out over the controller you wouldn't have listen to annoying ass 12 year old kids screaming...you could theoretically use the touch sensitive area to adjust volume as well

What do you guys think? I see more rounded grips that remind me of the 360 design. Still can't tell if the analog sticks are concave, or just convex but indented from the outside rims.

Clearly see the headphone jack and probable speaker.

Maybe it's just the fact that it's new but the look of the controller is starting to grow on me. It kind of reminds me of the PS Vita.

Same here. When I looked at the first time I was very skeptical but this image does it more justice than the other. It looked like it needed some liposuction bad.

A headset jack on the controller does provide a practical and cheap headset option that doesn't require batteries or recharging.

Low cost means also that Sony could afford to include one with every console. Much like MS does.

Yeah that just entered my head as well when I was talking to a mate about the controller.

I know a lot of people would like to see every PS bundled with a headset.

1 feature the PS4 better have is the freaking ability for the usb ports to charge the controllers when it's not powered on. I always hated that. You either had to play while connected or plug in elsewhere over night to charge.

No device can power USB without having power on.

You can charge it by a USB wall charger or hook it up to the PC...it should work. (note: PC also has to be on, needless to say)

How can you charge something without being on?

maybe i shouldve said while in standby or something....
my 360 n cablebox charge thru usb without need for turning it on.
there is still power going to the unit even when turned off. thats why the standby light glows on the ps

First image made it look cheap since it was low quality image and we were looking at it head-on. Now that this second one is out and is a better quality image and showing it at a more informative angle, I think it shows that the controller actually looks more sleek than initially expected.

I like the grips, the headphone jack, and the concave joysticks. Now, here's hoping they have made the triggers more ergonomic this time (not that I had a problem with them, but there was that 1% of the time that my fingers slipped).

I don't quite get the touch pad being in the middle. Doesn't seem like convenient placement for it. That's if it's a touchpad in the first place. The only thing I hope is that the touch pad has the PS symbols on them in the final build...for aesthetic sake. That rendition is just too slick.

I want to say that my old 60gb used to do that for at least 30mins to one hour after shutting of. I can't confirm that as it's dead right now. What model do you have?

Neither my launch 60gb or20gb units did this nor my current 120gb i think it was o_O? It became 1TB right after opening the box so... lol

Idk. I remember a few times that after shutting it down it would charge the controller for a little while. Don't think it did it all the time though. Could have been a glitch. Lol

Someone get this guy a job at Sony. Like now! This is one bad ass rendering. Hopefully the controller will feature something like this. It would be so nice being able to have all the XMB, assuming they still use it, features right at your finger tips. Hopefully that is the route that they will go with the Touchpad. Don't really know until the 20th. I hate this wait so bad!
