Why are we PS-centric? What's the gain there? Wouldn't it be better if we were a true multiplatform forum?
If it's all about money in the end, it would make more sense to go multiplatform. So what's the reason?

I don't know that it would make sense to broaden the focus of the forum. It seems nowadays niche forums have a better rate of success than broad general forums. Probably because forums are dropping in popularity.
Other opinions are available.

I registered solely because this is a Playstation focused site. I can't speak for everyone else nor the owners but I'm guessing that their reason is similar.

It has Multi-platform appeal, the name means a lot... But it is how you feel about the forum that makes it unique
The name does not always sell the forum... It is the members

Because PSU is a dedicated PlayStation site when the creator made the site it was for PlayStation coverage ( more then likely because how popular PlayStation is), not gonna change that just because Xbox fans reside here and the Xbox fans are here because....well who else would have them? lol

Not sure why somebody would join here knowing full well that this is a Playstation fansite and then try to change it into something else. Thats like walking into somebodys house while theyre in the middle of watching something on TV and changing the channel to a show that you want to watch.

You guys misunderstand. I know it's a PS-centric website and it started out as that...I'm saying why can't we just make it an all-gaming website. That way we won't get a lot of hardcore fans that end up getting banned anyway and why all these wars start. Think about it, fanboys bring out fanboys in others...so if there are less PS3 fanboys, there are less fanboys of other consoles.
If you call it a PS whatever, it will attract radical fans and this is why the forums can get a bit out of hands at times due to all the wars. Still we're not as bad as places like NEOGAF. Why is NEOGAF so popular then?Praise the lord for Ni No Kuni!

Well it is called PSU..
Like most people, I joined because it was mostly focused on Playstation.
There is an "Other Gaming" section so it's not like they can't talk about other stuff in there,

Noo. noo...nop, uh unn! Those guys are not going to get treated any better on other forums unless they are dedicated MS/nin forums.
It's not dead in the MS and nintendo threads due to less fans in those sections. They're dead because MS and Nintendo are bullshitting around.
Nintendo has a new console out and it's getting hit heavy because they took a risk and it's not paying off yet. Multiplats aren't worth talking about and their 1st party titles are a bit off. There's nothing to really talk about.
MS is doing the same shit they've been doing for years now. Release 2 big budget exclusives, rely on multiplats and kinect. Nothing to really talk about when it's the same tired story. I might add that there is 720 rumors out there and you can't discuss it before being run off by a pro Ms fan due to them not wanting to talk about a possible future of their console being weaker than the ps4.
Tha Fuck? I don't need no relationship with my tv, sick bastard. Why the hell should I pay you more money to use features I can get at the touch of a button on my remote? Oh, you want me to use these features with a camera and my voice instead? I'm not that damn lazy and I want to save some money FOR GAMES.

Then why are these forums full of Wii U fans? http://www.ign.com/boards/forums/nin...i-wii-u.80041/
and this for 360 fans http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/g...n/default.aspx
So you agree with my view then.
lol exactly so now all we have are about a 100 dedicated people left. Because we should've been a multiplat forum so more people would join that aren't fanboys and more variety joins.Praise the lord for Ni No Kuni!

@Sufi, in a way yes... But again over the years it has grown to be more that PLAYSTATION FOCUSED anymore
It is much more than that now... It is a family and a collection of great minds now...
