This could be interesting.
http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/15/ws...eam-ps3-games/The next PlayStation will be able to stream PlayStation 3 games, according to unnamed sources "familiar" with Sony's plans. The claim comes from a new report published by theWall Street Journal, and suggests that online streaming of current PS3 games will be paired with new games sold on optical media through regular channels.
Sony's cloud service hinges on its $380 million acquisition of streaming company Gaikai, which was announced last year. If the PlayStation 4 houses architecture different enough from the PS3 to preclude effective backwards compatibility, streaming may be pitched as a solution.
Sony's official word on the matter is expected during the PlayStation event next week on February 20.

The question is...will you be able to put in your PS3 game disc and have the game stream? Or will you have to buy the game again?

I'm not thrilled about having a game while not having it at the same time. I never liked the idea of depending on a whimsical server in the sky to play my content.
If this also ends up being a DD service, I am happy. Especially when I don't have a PS3.

Same here, but still it's nice to have that option. I used to say no digital games at all for me, now I've bought plenty of digital games because it's easier to deal with, doesn't mean I prefer it over physical bluray discs. But yeah if there's like a month fee and being able to stream several games now that would be a nice deal.

No reason why this shouldn't work fine with Gaikai, it is meant to stream PC games at 1080p with at least 30fps. It seems like this opens up the possibility they will be upscaled as well. Sony is bringing together a super powerful combination of streaming servers, cloud servers and open network servers. Probably just dreaming but if they could combine a cloud server with Gaikai and allowed the player to upload his legitimate games on disk into their own SEN account, which acts as the license to play the game over Gaikai. This is all coming together so fast but the Sony Playstation future is starting to integrate some awesome power. Thinking about this a little further, it could be a simple disk check that you have the game but it's played over Gaikai.

I'll be keeping my PS3 so I don't really care about streaming. Either way it won't affect me.

As long as this service works for fully streaming PS3 titles to PSVita- then I'm all for it. Very good idea.
It's useful for people like me who don't own a PS3. However, the resolution better not be compromised and latency ought to be at acceptable levels.

I'm not quite understanding what it means by streaming. Will you be streaming the game itself for a server or will it be downloaded to the system itself. I guess only time will tell. Honestly like most have posted I will be keeping my PS3 so this is just a tack on for me.

This is nice for those that have Zero PlayStation games, but when you have over 300 disc+PSN you don't want to be paying for a service to play a streamed version

Well I'm glad I have a 50mpbs connection. They clearly have big plans for cloud gaming which is exciting. If this is true I wonder what kinda deal they'll have with 3rd party games? You'd think they need to strike a deal to host 3rd party games on servers for people to play. Not sure.
I hope it's not selective b/c and most the games are 1st party - that'd be lame
Putting in your game disc and it verifying it then opening up a stream of the game would be crazy cool. It's a shame they can't offer full hardware b/c but we'd be looking at an overpriced monster once again if they tried that
I'm betting this will be behind some sort of paywall, probably PS+. This along with how great Plus already is would make it that much more inticing for non-Plus'ers. Makes sense

This is the part I'm a little confused about.
So buying KZ 4 will allow you to stream KZ3?suggests that online streaming of current PS3 games will be paired with new games sold on optical media through regular channels.I don't need no stinkin' signature!

It doesn't really change anything for me. I still have my 60gb ps3 so i'll just switch back when I get the urge to play a ps3 game again.
