No way in hell will they do that. It would be pointless. Just like there "power saving" controls. Wastes a lot of power having it go off then turning on. A useless feature. They should just leave it as it is.

Wireless would be cool but that just means more technology to incorporate into the controller, which in turn means a higher cost. Don't know about you but I think $60 dollars is high enough.

The reality is Inductive Charging solutions have come way down in terms of costs. It may add a few more $ today to the cost of the controller, but if it can help commoditize the market, it would drive this cost down quickly. You don't have to ship a charging pad with it. Make that an Aftermarket option for $29.99.
If the don't do this, then I think the should really consider offering plug in inductive chargers and pads as an option.
I'd much rather toss my game pad on charging pad at the end of the day of gaming and not have to plug it in to some shitty charging stand that's going to break in 6mo.

Yeah I agree with mostly everyone.
Just charging through the system would be good enough.

I'm fine with USB as it is now. If not connected to the console you can plug the USB into a laptop/PC and still charge the controller.
Maybe add something as simple as turning the console off automatically once the controller is fully charged. I've never really had much problem with the lifespan of the battery.
Wireless would be nice, but as others have said, it would cause an unnecessary price increase. I don't know how easy it would be to add, but I suppose they could wait and see what MS plans to do.
