Sony should include wireless charging for their next DS controllers

No way in hell will they do that. It would be pointless. Just like there "power saving" controls. Wastes a lot of power having it go off then turning on. A useless feature. They should just leave it as it is.

Wireless would be cool but that just means more technology to incorporate into the controller, which in turn means a higher cost. Don't know about you but I think $60 dollars is high enough.

    No.

    1. The wireless charging tech would make PS4 & controller more expensive.
    2. To have wireless charging you have to place your console quite close to the charging station/dock.
    3. At least with cable, I will still be able to play with my controller while its charging.

You can turn it off and I like it. I like to watch shows on netflix till I fall asleep and this way I don't have to worry about my ps3 being on all night just in case. My controllers life stays higher with the 10min saver

Wireless charging? I think we will be lucky if the ps4 has Bluetooth 4.0.

I agree with you on that. And yeah, just let us have it as the PS3 with USB cable and being able to play and charge at the same.

The reality is Inductive Charging solutions have come way down in terms of costs. It may add a few more $ today to the cost of the controller, but if it can help commoditize the market, it would drive this cost down quickly. You don't have to ship a charging pad with it. Make that an Aftermarket option for $29.99.

If the don't do this, then I think the should really consider offering plug in inductive chargers and pads as an option.

I'd much rather toss my game pad on charging pad at the end of the day of gaming and not have to plug it in to some shitty charging stand that's going to break in 6mo.

Don't want. Just a tack on to drive the price up imo. This would be cool but not at the sake of driving up the price.

Yeah I agree with mostly everyone.
Just charging through the system would be good enough.

Yeah it's not that big of a deal having to connect a wire to a controller.

I'm fine with USB as it is now. If not connected to the console you can plug the USB into a laptop/PC and still charge the controller.

Maybe add something as simple as turning the console off automatically once the controller is fully charged. I've never really had much problem with the lifespan of the battery.

Wireless would be nice, but as others have said, it would cause an unnecessary price increase. I don't know how easy it would be to add, but I suppose they could wait and see what MS plans to do.

The DS3 has a ridiculous battery life on it and doesn't take long at all to charge. So if I have to plug it in for 30 mins I'm not really that upset about it. I like the idea of the auto-off when the controller is charged. That way you are good to go when you come back.
