Thought it was great overall. Would have enjoyed at least seeing it but I like that we still have a lot more to look forward to at E3. This idea was also good, more hype for the console over what MS has and it means they don't have to beat around the bush as much. At E3 they can jump right into it (well, except for all that number speak of PS3 sales).

With the online features they showed I would definitely pay for a subscription to access it all and the spectating thing is really cool. Not to mention the ability to have a friend control the game for you if you're stuck. Loved that they had ease of use for developers and actually took feedback from them, I think that will help them with this next gen. It would have been great to have Bethesda there and hear them give praise to it since they have been obviously hampered by the PS3 and will show how much of an effort Sony made to appeal to devs. Maybe at E3 with a new Fallout.

I want to look around on Kotaku more to see what I missed but already the MS and anti-Sony fanboy's are out in full. I was randomly logged out of there earlier, almost as a sign, lol. I can't believe people are upset about the social features and even being able to stream games. Fanboyism makes no sense...

Really looking forward to E3 now and what more they have to offer as well as what MS shows. These next few months are gonna be slow.

It'll be interesting what MS shows. I know this much; while I'll be getting PS4 day one; I'd still like to see what direction MS takes with the new Xbox so I can at least see what it will do (mainstream wise and core-wise).

Latter Xbox 360 years have shown me its best to get it after a redesign/slim version (at least when I can see if/when they've revealed more exclusives).

Either way this announcement has actually gotten me excited for next-gen.

Same here Nitey. I was expecting them to still be close to the vest after coming out of this. But they showed a great deal and discussed a great deal about the system as well. While also keeping it somewhat vague and wanting us to come back for more come e3. This is a smart Sony in my mind. They look like they are looking to take back their place they had with the PS2 this gen.

I was still too excited to think. I did not realize the unified memory was entirely GDDR5. That is ridiculous. Wasn't AMD planning to release this next year? Maybe the chipset is still in development... and the PS4 will be getting it early. That's probably why they were a little vague with the specs. Thanks for clearing that up.

MS has deep pockets. Also we don't have confirmation of DDR3 yet. The rumored reasoning for going with DDR3 over GDDR5 was just blown out of the water though.

Price meaning the price of the console. There is obviously going to be some sacrifices made somewhere to keep the price inline with the PS4 with the new Kinect being bundled/built-in with every system.

GAF is dead actually, been dead since a few minutes before it started. Then I got a '' scheduled maintenance'' message. Yah, right lol. Anyway, I kept tuning in and out of the conference ( the gaikai stuff bored me) and most of them apart from the blizzard guy were piss poor public speakers. Anyway, great stuff. Specs are impressive. Good games so far, pretty sure they are keeping some stuff for E3 as well. Loving the new controller. No price and No Kojima though from what I have seen.

They were trying that crazy pricing/financing plan recently with the 360. they might have some ideas to offset something, whether ts worth it or just crudely more expensive

You do realize that both sony and MS will be losing money on every console sold from day 1 onwards, right?

They never price the consoles at the true cost to manufacture/assemble/box/ship, ect.

Who is to say that MS wouldn't "eat" the higher costs of having kinect 2 shipped with every console in addition to the rest of the hardware.

Don't underestimate what companies are willing to spend to get what they want.
