I want more! I have waited so long it seems for this unveiling, yet I feel somehow cheated. Perhaps I was expecting too much, too early. However in the end I am now interested in several PS4 titles, which is a huge win!

There's still plenty more to see. Holiday 2013 is still many moons away.

I think no matter what MS does or sells; I'm gladd Sony have gone this route. They have added stuff to add value for social mainstream sorta things; but they haven't let us down in terms of, you know, GAMES!

It was nice that they described their console/network as "open".

I know and they've been pushing that a lot recently. CCP, Valve amongst others benefiting. Will we see PS4 being the go-to console for PC devs? Maybe so.

Where? GameStop says they'll notify me via e-mail when pre-orders are available. I don't trust the shady local GameStop here. I would still rather pre-order it from Amazon.

I am well aware they lose money from day one, that doesn't mean there is not a limit to the amount a company is willing to lose. Perhaps MS will increase the price of Live and make it more of a necessity for the console to offset the costs, I don't know, but at the moment everything points to the next Xbox using 8GB of GDDR3 memory.

Well Microsoft makes 1billion+ off of xbl gold subs every year. And seeing as how they recently raised the price for the first time, I think it will be quite some time before pricing would be increased again.

Microsoft lost 1.26 billion due to the 360 launch. And they spent 1 billion as the last moment to double the memory in the 360.

I think you underestimate what they are willing to do to reach their targets.

I wouldn't be surprised if they planned to reduce manufacturing costs much more quickly than the consoles this generation in order to minimize initial hardware losses.

Btw I love how you can play content as it's downloading, and stream demos, spectating, and have access to all this from any supported device. Not that keen on the catering to my 'needs' by predicting but I'm sure you can switch that off.

ah damn. now i have to spend more money. So far this year is another big electronics year for me again. Got a new TV, getting a new laptop, Stereo equipment for my car, an iPad, and now PS4. I need a raise.

Im actually impressed with the DualShock 4. It looked like it was very comfortable to use.

Im also ecstatic about the PS4 and Vita inter-connectivity. This is what i was hoping the Vita would be with PS3. The second they Announce Fallout 4 for the next gen, and that ill be able to play it on my vita, i may as well just set up a mini fridge in my bathroom and never leave the toilet. dont even have to worry about recycling as the recycle bins are right below my bathroom window. just might weird out the neighbors.

Ah. That's probably why I was confused because they definitely did not state the GDDR5 amount at the beginning. They just said 8 GB of unified memory. I turned it off after it was over because I was pissed off they didn't show the console... lol.

According to that chart, 8GB of GDDR5 would cost them like $70.

4.35 (512MB) x 16 (8GB) = $69.60
