Some expected it to arrive with the PS3. Others didn't know they ever wanted it.. Soon though, the PlayStation family will become larger and more closely knitted than ever before.
I'm of course talking about everything the PlayStation 4 will do to bring gamers closer to each other. Be it through Home, matchmaking, direct on-the-fly communication, networking, clan building or otherwise social engagement in gaming.
Coupled with the foundation laid during the PSX and PS2 era, this will be the breakthrough the Playstation needs to stay relevant. To maintain that fenomenon for which we learned to embrace the PlayStation for.
This is not meant to be the ranting of some narrow minded fan. It is a stating of hope - that the company I personally think brings the most potential for a home console, makes the decision to bring the gaming community truly, more together.
Post your thoughts on what you think the PS4 will mean for the PlayStation community. Cheers!![]()

Makes me feel old but I always liked that ad. I just want to say that it's great to finally get the hype building up for the PS4 and seeing old members return to PSU.

I don't believe the 'community' will be any different to how its always has been despite the advent of the ps4.

Heavier online integration within games, hopefully to the gamers advantage. I mean it should not be sacrificing single player features, local multiplayer and it should run a little more smoothly than it does. I really hated how so many games essentially dumbed down the whole game and/or cut out playing with friends who are actually in the room with you completely in lieu of some bs online mode that's not gonna be hosted by any server within a couple or few years anyway. That needs to be fixed. Games need to be a whole package. So sick of DLC bs too, but I'm not holding my breath that DLC will be getting any better, but worse rather. Anyone seen the new muramasa? The biggest new feature IMO of having new characters/scenarios doesn't come with the game when you buy it, but you have to pay even more for it as DLC. That's garbage if you ask me.
New console war obviously. It's funny to watch. Anyone remember on our side in 2006/2007 when the PS3 had BC and that was a key argument against the xbox community, but when that was dropped all of a sudden BC was so archaic, dont need to play those games anymore, ps store is such a fantastic idea etc. Also the ps3 had so much "potential" it was gonna blow everything out of the water by miles once it was utilized, cell was the best in the world, and it was definitely gonna be the whole 10 years if not more before a new playstation needed to be released etc. Sorry if it looks like I'm bashing the ps community, I'm not it applies to both sides I just remember the ps communities fanboy tomfoolery more because that's the side I'm on. Oh yeah all the xbox's gor rrod which was a huge win for us until we got ylod lol! It's all the same.

Some of the ads for the PS3 were just a bit too out there. They were entertaining but nothing that really made you say "Damn I want a PS3." Some of the ones were cool like the exploding paint one. I'll see if I can find it. But it never really come off as good marketing to me. I knew I wanted one any way before watching any commercials though.
