The leak says "most online features." That sounds like basic online play will still be free. The additional online features will most likely be under a revamped PS+ type optional service.

    Previous articles on it.

The streaming is taken from their acquisition of Gaikai and a recent WSJ report that the new console would allow streaming of games, including PS3 ones.

The rest was from a Kotaku article today by an un-named source, who has previously been proven credible, giving numerous possible leaks.

Sony's well known for not being able to keep a secret, so since that info was leaked then it's likely true. I wouldn't get too hyped about it though just in case.

The PlayStation 4 will be out this November in the United States.

Pricing won’t be announced until later this year, but the current plan is to release two versions at $429 and $529. This may change. No details on what is different, but presumably it’s the HDD size.

You will be able to control the PS4 remotely from your tablet or smartphone, this includes using the mobile to chat with your PS4 buddies or buy games which are then automatically downloaded to your PS4

“Most” of the PS4′s online features will require a premium subscription to use, and this new premium online service will be called PlayStation World. It will replace PlayStation Plus.

Every PS4 will come with a PlayStation Eye. No word on how much better this camera will be to the current one.

A new spectating feature will let you watch other friends play games from your PS4′s dashboard. You don’t have to own their games to watch. (Our prayers have been answered)

The PS4 will support local network play via Vita.
Oh, I'm sorry did I break your concentration I didn't mean to do that. Please, continue. - Jules

So hypothetically how butthurt would everyone be if it wasn't the PS4, but instead just some game or online feature for the PS3?

No, it's saying most online features will need the premium subscription, playing online isn't really a feature in itself. I believe the trophies and all that stuff will still be free when you buy a PS3, the difference is, is the premium service is going to offer a lot more compared to playstation plus and it will offer a lot more compared to just online gaming and trophy support.

Come at me Sony! I have no problem going online play only on PC. Dispel this pay to play online bull$#@!.

Coming from Kotaku, it has about a 1% chance of being true.

I think all new features will be "premium." Current model probably won't change at all. I hope to hell I'm right.

I was venturing over on NeoGAF - which I apparently still have an account with, hmm - and saw someone mention the new L2/R2 style so figured I'd post the picture. Shouldn't be anything too new, but I don't recall seeing them in the past pictures.

Also since the Kotaku leak was a dev then the price could be in question but the other stuff would likely be known so they could develop for features and what's standard with every console.

The controller actually looks better from that angle compared to the previous pictures (still needs refinement though). Anyway, triggers look better than before, though they are quite flat looking. The actual feel of how they work is more important to me though. I'm not a huge fan of the current "spongey" triggers.

Same here, I've been a plus member since they launched it. So I don't mind paying a premium subscription.

No need to really think about it. At this point it is pretty much guaranteed to be the next PlayStation console.

Very doubtful. The way the article is worded using the words "most" and "features" leads me to believe that online gaming will still be free.

I think the price will end up being $399/$499. My guess is Kotaku was told the price of the PS4 in yen, then they just converted it to US to reach the prices they listed.

Well the DUALSHOCK3 is listed at 30 playable hours, via IGN and Yahoo Answers (I know...). I don't know if they're still using the same battery tech as 6-7 years ago but I'd assume there's a newer tech that works better.

I can't see the battery life changing drastically. Of course the Move controller only had 10 hours, so hopefully I'm not wrong. I could live with those numbers but something a little higher would be nice.

EDIT: Taking more things from NeoGAF. From a developer/publisher on twitter:
    Tyrone Rodriguez ‏@tyronerodriguez
@Emi1yRogers I have no idea what a #PS4 is, but I know you're going to like what you see tomorrow.
    And an "industry guy":
    thekevindent ‏@TheKevinDent
Source: PS4 will retail for around $350-$430 depending on SKU
    thekevindent ‏@TheKevinDent
@SteveStreza everything that I have heard is that pricing will be announced tomorrow.
I actually suggest you just check out his page.

The post about not knowing what a PS4 suggest that it may actually called orbis. But I doubt they go with the codename.

Yea, I keep reading everywhere about the number 4 and that it means death and it's superstitious, etc. I figured they'd still use it though. It would be weird to have a PlayStation that isn't numbered.
