when will preorders start for the ps4

When will gamestop start takeing preorders for the ps4.for the ps3 i was at the mall at 8 in the morning.i hope they start soon.

I'm going to guess not too long after it's announced... as has been the case for the last couple generations.

I'll be pre-ordering as soon as humanly possible.

For the PS3 they didn't start until just a couple months before launch.
They over sold preorders on the 360, so now they wait until they actually find out how many they are getting.

Yeah, it was a little chaotic this gen. I'm surprised I even got one. Actually... it was chaotic with PS2. I remember my mom almost killing some lady to get one for me. Great mom. :] lol

According to the manager at the Gamestop I go to, when I went to pre-order my Wii U, she said they start taking pre-orders right after a price is announced. She took my pre-order for the Wii U about 2-3 hours after the price was announced. So I'd guess it would be the same with the PS4.

It will all depend on if they announce the price tomorrow or not.

If they do Gamestop and most other major retailers will probably have them up by the end of the month. If they don't Gamestop will probably still have it up (in-store only and probably $999), but most other retailers probably won't until the price is announced.

The Gamestop here blows and doesn't have a good track record of upholding pre-orders very well. I'll probably go through Amazon this time (they've been awesome for game pre-orders so far). o_0

Here in Australia you can order any console before the price is announced. They just make us put a $50 deposit minimum just so we have our name down.

My friend works for GAME here in the UK so I'm guaranteed one if I want one. When the PS3 came out the store had a midnight opening like so many others, he basically grabbed one so I could turn up at anytime to pop in and get it. Quite a few people didn't get their pre-order due to them not getting enough but I got mine despite not turning up to the shop until late in the afternoon.
At present I'm unsure if I'll pre-order but the chances are once it's announced tonight I'll start changing my tone

Would be cool if it's after the event. Like, the next business day. But wouldn't that mean they share the price with us? Something I doubt they do tomorrow

If they tell us the price tonight I expect pre-orders will start. With games right after they are "officially" announced they go to pre-order right then. While a console is a lot more money and more important than any individual game I don't see it breaking tradition. You never know though. Soon after the press event I'm gonna keep checking GameStop website and see if they put it up.

I did end up going to GameStop. And they confirmed that Pre--orders might go on sale tonight or tomorrow. If indeed it is shown tonight. Which he said they would be stupid if the didn't. So, for me it's a done deal.

I just called my gamestop. Basically what I assumed they would say. Currently they don't know as of yet BUT depending on what is said tonight, pre-orders could start as early as tomorrow or Friday.

They also said that they are going to be live blogging in the stores for customers to see haha.
