Best Buy got 50 units at the one near me. And its not even that big... But people did camp out the whole night, they made them wait till the morning:P... but they let them inside the first part of the store at 12. Some were allowed to sleep there heehee.

So I was told by some people I know at school.

I just hope EBgames starts taking preorders Tuesday.

that would be stupid of sony to do that, why wouldn't they supply their OWN store with 30-50 units?

I think it has to do with their own sales. More people buy games, consoles from EBgames, Wal-mart, best buy and future shop then there own Store... funny yes... I got my PS2 from the sony store! But I got my slim version from Wal-Mart. You see what I mean? When I think of games, I think EBgames and wal-mart. When I think of T.V's, cameras, I think Sony store. I feel thats how alot of people think about it. I was originally going to order from the Sony store, but with the shipment coming here, Sony store most likely won't get any.

Sony will get some for sure, but not enough. Also, the sony store isnt generally your "line up fcfs" store because if you knock something down... u'll be spending more than 4000$ on your system.

They also don't want that kinda hassle to deal with during release. (come on, which store wants to take on its own burden when you can give it to another store to do it and earn the same?)


Rogers Video WILL have a bit of systems fcfs, considering that it has been said/postedin their site. Most TrUS aren't gonna do it cause its been done a year ago.

Btw... jackburton, ur a noob... "meh meh meh, im so smart, I can apply for a job at future shop w/e" guess what? by the time your application clears and everything, u can have the ps3 at march when it releases in 6mil.

"We just had our managers meeting and there will definitely be preorders. There will be ONE day of national preorders. For all of those waiting for Monday, I would definitely start with the phone calls right now to see if you get any nibbles from stores. The calls will be thick I'm sure and stores will be going crazy with those calls, so I imagine corporate will want to make this come through sooner rather than later so that the stores aren't constantly bombarded for the next month with phone calls about the rumor of a preorder sale.

Hopefully, someone who calls at night, or before a store opens will start a NEW topic and put it in all caps that "PREORDERS TODAY OCTOBER XX @ EB/GS!!!" when they find out.

I already called and was told that there is no updated info for PS3/Wii in their computer system so today, Saturday, October 7, is not the day.

I've asked a couple questions btw

1st store: We aren't doing preorders today and not tomrrow (public holiday) We haven't got the word from head office yet, but it's gonna be soon. We aren't affliciated with US EB, so if they have preorder day, its gonna be different from Canada.

2nd store: (this persons hesitant) Uhm... We aren't going to have PS3. No preorders at all and first come first serve. Sony has manufacturing problems. Any other stores that do a preorder are at their own discretion. Less than 5 systems.

3rd store: Hi, we will no have preorders today or tuesday, but we are waiting for the news for head office to give us the go for it. We aren't the same as US so we'll probably get news later on. Probably within next week or so, but we will definately have preorders for it.

Haha, well I'ma call on tuesday, because thats the "buzz" what people say the preorder day is. So I'll just check in every 2 days or so haha... annoy the **** out of them until they just say "You know what... Give us 50 dollars, and we'll make sure you get one if you just stop calling."

I just signed onto MSN, and my friend messaged me telling me he had somewhat big news that he made it as the fourth person onto BlockBuster's pre-order list, and they're taking pre-orders for the 60GB Package. He said the list he signed (he mentioned there is no deposit) had about 15 lines for signatures, and he made it as the fourth person.

I thought this seemed pretty unrealistic, but he's telling the truth apparently after I phoned the BlockBuster, I'm going to quote what the lady at BB said...

"We're the only BlockBuster in the province who can guarentee the first 15 people who pre-ordered their PS3 to actually get their PS3 on Day 1 with no deposit necessary."

So yea, some of you might want to start phoning BlockBusters around your area.

Nice, im going to call again today to the same location and see what they say . Thanks for the info, but their the ONLY ONE TO TAKE PS3 PREORDERS WITHOUT DEPOSIT. So yea, lets not get confused, their not the ONLY ones to take pre-orders, just the only ones to take pre-orders without deposit.

And since yesterday I got a response that they would love to give me a pre-order but cant due to some issue with their system, that must mean they will take pre-orders when that issue is fixed.

I live in Vancouver, and I phoned EB games. The dude on the phone said that they will not be taking pre-orders this tuesday, but then he said that they will be taking them about next week for sure.

Called some Blockbusters in the GTA and they're not taking any orders yet until they are notified by the head office so I guess it ain't for Ontario yet...

I posted about putting in a pre-order in Ontario a few days ago at a Blockbuster in Ottawa. It's obviously on a per-store basis...Blockbuster is not split up by province divisions, so why would people think it's by province?

Its not exactly by per store... its cause blockbuster still havent got the # of ps3s that they are recieving. Basically, as some stores said... if they start preorder, its on their own descretion.
Also, its probably not gonna be an equal distribution to every store, so some that are preordering right now MIGHT not even get one at all. you just have to hope that ur lucky.

Hahahaha! I just called my blockbuster and asked if their taking preorders and the guy said to me, "Its to early to take preorders."
I thought "early... what do you mean?"
so I asked, what does he mean early.
"The launch date was changed to march 2007."

I just had to laugh... not sure if he was joking but... oh man, thats worth it even if he was playing with me lol.
