    Thanks for that Dave.

I've always loved the Killzone games but this one seems really fucking cool. The Killzone 3 story seemed rad too from the story trailer and the actors they used but fell short in some ways in the actual game for me

I tell my brother that IMO GG is Sony's most talented studio. Technically, they are at the top of their game. The Killzone universe is engrossing and if they can weave a compelling story into the actual games to match their technical talent then mindblown

everything in the engine is still cooked! probably just the ps3 engine. what i mean by that is for next gen, i expect the cloth physics to be superb! if somebody has a hoodie and you shoot them in the head, the hood should come off or have a bullet hole in it. the friendly AI movements also is reminiscent of KZ3...its not a bad thing, i mean its a launch title but if they think they dont have to make any changes and just pretty up the engine for the ps4, then there game will look archaic next to games that have engines built from the ground up for next gen consoles

oh and please they need to get rid of the grenade trails.

i am waiting on naughty dog to really show what this system is capable of...them and santa monica studios

This picture right here looks insane, considerably better than even the 2005 CGI trailer:

And i expect it to look a LOT better by the time E3 rolls around. My personal opinion is that although these games looked magnificent and clearly a generational leap, it was still apparent that they were done in a rush! Some obvious bad animations in KZ and obvious pop ins in Drive Club supports my claim.

That's what crossed my mind as well, but they'll have time. E3 will probably have a different scene of the game that would show more of the power of the system.

I think you guys mean Draw distance not depth of field.

Depth of field is to do with the distance and focus of near and far objects.

If the camera focus is close then things in the distance are blurred and vice versa. ITs often used in the iron sights mechanic in shooter games.

Notice the yellow ball is in focus but the red ball in the distance isnt.

Psssh wait till we see naughty dog and Santa Monica studios games, the first wave of software will be rough but I believe because of ease of development, the second waves will look and play outstanding

The initial wave of games are almost always rough looking with a select few breaking that mold. IE KZ2, Uncharted. But still looking back at Uncharted it doesn't hold a candle to Uncharted 2. This is going to be an exciting gen from the gameplay we saw.

No doubt that PS4 games will only look better. We're in the transitional stage between current and next-gen visuals.

    Narrated trailer for Shadowfall

    http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/02/27...-debut-trailer

I hadn't seen this before and was rummaging about IGN and found it. Sheds a little more insight into what is happening.

Nice. Whatever happened to the emperor? I thought at the end of KZ3 there were speculations that he's still alive and well?

I want to be excited, but the gameplay looked really boring. I loved Killzone 1 and 2 and was really sad with the decisions they made in 3. Shadowfall looks like a graphical update of that.

Interesting to see what they do story-wise considering how the 3rd ended. Looks beautiful as usual.

It's a shooter, so it's gonna play like a shooter. You know, like all other shooters... (so I don't fucking know what people are expecting here....)
    My backlog.
