I guess you are right. Good points you have.

@I'm very curious now what Microsoft has to offer... although at this point I really don't care.
Me too friend who cares about this garbage Microsoft with its shit console. I don't no how did I buy the garbage Xbox and wasted 280 dollars. Probably I have had an extra money
.
@seksyYou guys over think it. It's as simple as the design isn't finalized yet.
I would say true.

I reckon they just didn't want to give away too much info too soon. Also as was said previous they may not have the finial design down. The whole theme of the press release was emphasis on the gamer and being able to play on anything anywhere, so i guess they don't really want the public to focus on the PS4 hardware/box etc more instead on the gaming experience it can offer

That is possible, but I think they are playing their cards smart! This gives them something to show at E3 along with more games. I wouldn't want to reveal everything at this point either, just enough to let the competition know what's up! So if they show the PS4, PS4 Eye, more games, pricing/specs/release date at E3 they will steal some of Microsoft's thunder...

I think the reason the PS4 as not shown and the price was not announced is they want to get the parts at the best price so the exterior aspect could change too

This has nothing to do with parts. This has only to do with hype. I'm sure ps4 is already in production for the masses stacking console on console in some factory in japan.
Can't wait to get my hands on one

Because the parts for it aren't even in production yet and the specs may still change.
You've got to remember, this thing is still 9-10 months away from release. It's not like they have them rolling off the production lines right now. They will probably have early QA test systems in final form ready for E3, but I wouldn't expect to see anything until then.

They can't reveal everything right now, they are most likely spreading all the news throughout the year. So E3 they will most likely reveal what the console looks like. I will also bet we haven't even heard everything there is to hear when it comes to the PS4 and what it's capable of doing. We've heard a lot in the few hours the conference was on, but I think there is quite a bit more.

@Ryunosuke The next xbox will not be announced at E3 it will be announced before. Sony should have had the PS4 there, announcing a product without showing on that scale is crazy, but they pulled it off.

I'm confident the consoles aesthetics will blow us away. Sony have always been one to flaunt their hardware 'expertise' especially in design, and their product line for this year is very pleasing on the eyes so far. I'm expecting a very sexy and slick looking box
I just hope it's quiet
So with that said maybe they know that people want to see how it looks but holding it back means they have a reason for people to keep up with the PS4 train for a while longer. I don't think it's as 'stupid' as people are suggesting for them not to show how it looks

Someone sony said it was of a similar size and colour to other playstation designs. That doesnt help much I know but I think its just a sly marketing ploy (working for me ) to create additional hype when they release the actual design.

I think it's not ready and will most likely be delayed, given that RAM number is new, meaning new layout challenges. The problem will be what that ram is going to do to yields and production. Expensive, hard to nail down in capacity.

I hear you. I'm looking forward to the games taking advantage of all this RAM now. I know people are saying it's comparable to a modern day GPU... but it's a little different with consoles because whereas with PCs you have to continuously upgrade your GPU to keep up with games continuously being ridiculous and not even optimized to take advantage of multiple cores and other nonsense, devs for consoles will be constantly trying to take advantage of the console's power... leaving a greater potential for the card to show off what it can truly do... and seeing what devs this gen have done with the PS3's 512 MB of RAM... I can only imagine the kind of crap we're going to see in this next generation. I am very excited.

Exactly, it is amazing what they have accomplished with 512MB, heck 8GB of RAM would work wonders on a PC, but having 8GB of GDDR5...on a console, that is going to allow developers to create some really amazing stuff! This is going to be a very exciting generation of console gaming, that is for sure!
