8GB is alot.

My desktop at home has 8GB, which is overkill for what I use it for (hell, I am still running a 9600 GT card with 512MB)! Most people I know have 4GB of RAM and the only reason it needs that is because Windows is such a memory hog! That is another thing people forget, the console OS are not memory hungry like the PC counterparts as well!

There are so many websites having a moan, unsurprisingly one of them is CNET with the infinite stupidtity and stating there is no reason to buy this console. Wait for the XBOX they claim.

So many people are missing the point, the developers love it, that's reason enough right there. Happy developers means happy gamers.

I know that's what I was thinking. PS4 so far from what I can see is about as close as a console has ever gotten to maintaining relevance in comparison to PC. Hell the PS4 has more ram than my PC atm. Lol had a stick go bad. Only rocking 4 GB right now.

I'm sure a lot of this is due to those media types being all over MS and Apple's nuts all the time. Wait for the xbox...that we have no idea for sure what it is. Yeah makes logical sense to me. I play the scenario out like this.

"Hey man you hear about the PS4. It has 8gb of GDDR5 ram, 8 core processor, and it will even stream games back to PS1."

"PS4 suck man. Xbox is better in every way possible. I'm getting one day one."

"Have they even released any info on it yet?"

"Nope but MS is making it therefore it will be better than anything Sony can ever make."

In a nutshell that is how sadly some of the media types will go at it. That "America, Fuck Yeah!" mentality.

Windows 7 puts alot of stuff in RAM so when you want to go back to whatever it is it loads up faster. Why have all that RAM if it isnt being used.
Right now around 3GB of my 8GB is in use. I still have 5GB left which is plenty.

They are entitled to there opinion, I for one, I'm getting this shit day one. Even if it means importing one (if they decide to release in Japan first)

That's a good question. What made me turn my head in awe was the Activision/Blizzard & Sony partnership and with other developers being excited about the PS4 also. Which makes me question what is going on, on the otherside.

I would have thought the first party devs would have known, but who knows, maybe Sony was actually keeping everyone in the dark!

I know lol. The Eurogamer editorial on it is funny, Tom Bramwell sounds like he has a vagina at the best of times so it's no real surprise to hear that diddums is "feeling a little downcast this morning".

When Sony fly off in their own direction and make a console people don't like working with, they're roundly criticised.

When Sony fix this by doing what the developers want, they're also roundly criticised in the press
