On pricing, Tretton said that the PS4 is "designed with the game developer in mind and the consumer in mind," and will offer games with prices ranging from $0.99 to the more traditional $60 range with the ability for players to sample games before they buy.

"I think people are willing to pay if they see the value there," he said. "The heat for the true gamer is on the console."

He said that games on mobile devices are "additive experiences" and that gamers won't "migrate down the food chain" for their primary gaming experience.

Nice news! I wasn't really all that worried with the change of the system to be a more dev friendly system. Looks like this is going to be a painless transfer to next gen so far.

I really like what I'm hearing about the PS4. Tretton had a good interview with Forbes too. He basically said it's nice to have streaming services like Netflix etc., but the PS4 is about games. I love to hear that.

Only thing that sucks is the hardware backwards compatibility issue, but I can understand why that isn't going to be included. Too many hurdles to overcome and would probably drive the price of the PS4 up.

Chances are the system will be region free. Why not just import every game physically (sales and whatnot make them always cheaper than digitally) that way you can re sell it later and also not pay the set price on PSN

Yep, it's a trade off on price and the future for Playstation by having impressive specs.

I mean they could have created a more affordable weaker console with backwards compatibility. But then some people would be crying about the console being too weak.

Or they could have included backwards compatibility with the specs they currently have now and then the price of the PS4 be $600 like the PS3. Then some people would be crying about the console being too expensive again.

Did i understood correctly that all games will have demos? If true, this is HUGE and i can't believe it's not talked about more. The Aliens Colonial Marines is the perfect example of why this is so big.

£45? that is a total rip off.. I've never paid more than £40 for a brand new release game on PS3. In fact most of the time I pay around £38
