Sony has finally unveiled the PlayStation 4 to the masses, but the Japanese tech firm has stopped short of revealing a definitive release date and pricing for the console. That hasn’t stopped UK retailers putting up project pages for the PS4 though, allowing eager beavers to put down their money early.
We don’t know what the actualy PS4 will look like, but at least we know for sure we’re getting a new controller.

Whether you want to do this, for seemingly no reason other than to communicate your unbridled excitement, we’ll leave up to you but if you check out our dedicated PlayStation 4 hub linked here you’ll find out which retailers are offering to opportunity to put down a deposit on the console early.


Shopto.Net are the only retailer who has attached a price to Sony’s new console, a grand total of £399.95, whereas GAME and Grainger Games are simply asking players to plonk down £20 to secure the console which we suspect will be in extremely limited quantities at launch.

“Holiday 2013″ is the proposed launch window for the PlayStation 4, but it is unknown whether that date is for a worldwide release or just North America.

I'm gonna say it right now. The reviews of the PS4 that people are already writing on Amazon.. are nothing short of pathetic. How the fuck can you review a product that hasn't even seen the light of day.

Half of them are Xbox fanboys taking digs, the other half are PS3 fanboys crying about what the Xbox fanboy said. It's really pathetic.

Yeah, Amazon should update their system. Reviews should only be allowed to be left by people who bought the actual product and only after the release date.

I agree, i'm going to pre-order mine in the next few days. I know I want one so why wait. I'm hoping it won't be £425 again though. Closer to £350 would make me happy

That is still unknown friend... But will be learned soon enough

They might follow the path of the PS3 or go all out and do a wide world release

If it's region free I'm gonna order one. But since we don't know yet I will wait till the US GameStop says something. I don't want to buy something useless.

Can't see it being a global launch, would be awesome if it was November in Japan, USA... Then December in parts of Europe.

For me, I will never do a Best Buy pre-order every again, they screwed me with Modern Warfare 3 and refused to make it right! I just signed up for the Powerup Rewards at Gamestop (free one of course), so I will get mine from there...

Better to get it out of the way then keep putting it off. A lot less chance to not get a pre-order to do it now instead when all the parents/little kids find out.

I'm signed up for notifications from amazon and GameStop right now. I don't like buying from GameStop so it will be last on my list. I have a best but credit card with triple rewards points so I will try to get one there. Also will get intrest free period deal as well so it is a no brained for me to buy it there if I can.
