Yes, it's true. As of 3:56pm, Friday afternoon, February 22th, 2013
my 60gb (now 500gb) PS3 has dead yet again. Now I must deal with the loss of my beloved one. Bought her on April 12th 2007. She was beautiful, young, full of life and power. She was going to take over my world. :,( She was always there waiting for me, whenever I returned home. Just waiting for the moment for me to turn her on. But suddenly, *sniff* she won't turn on no mo...
What will I do, while she's away getting fixed?

No matter what race you are or what you look like or your sexuality or where you come from, We are all the same people and we are all bothers & sisters so love each other & don't let anyone tell you any different.
Remember you can't choose what you are from birth but you can choose what you want to become.
Just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean they are not there we all got to have something to believe in.

Mine isn't dead but I did take it on a trip a few hours away to a friends place and left the controller there. So I can't use it until I either get the controller back or buy a new one.

Mine croaked last month after 5 years, I know of your pain. My condolences...

Well mine stopped playing blu rays(day I got mw2) but would still play ps2 dvd games. Then it selectively stopped playing ps2 dvd games. So I used it to play purely digital games and watch dvds after I got another ps3. Then it got the yellow light of death. Meanwhile my sega saturn which ive had since launch that's been idling away in my closest covered in dust still works perfectly

Signs? Uhh....if it freezes a couple of times, that's one of them. If it doesn't read discs, if it starts to beep for a couple for few seconds that's another on.e That's all I can think of as right now. Make sure to clean it from the inside and out. Dust can get it in there. When I opened my ps3 to get a game out, there was a lot of dust inside. Might want to clean it every 2-3 weeks.

Sorry to hear that, mate.
I'm expecting my 60GB U.K. launch model to flat line any time now, though I'm amazed it has lasted this long. I'd like to think it's a testament to how well I look after my hardware, though it's probably more to do with how well Sony makes the things -- although both would be nice.
