Xbox-live vs psn face-off current and next gen

Ok who would be the best in this area of console wars...

The PSN has a neat selection and it has great indie games and downloadable classic games as well... But it fails on Navigation and constant downtime

The Xbox Live, as excellent selection of everything in terms of movies, games, avatar items and etc.. The downtime is not their as much as the PSN... The Navigation is excellent

So for me it would be Xbox Live

Live has a few more features but other than cross game voice chat I dont see the big deal. PSN has come a long way since the early days. So yeah you could say Live is the better service feature wise but PSN does everything I personally need it to do which is play online and its free. As far as apps go Netflix is better on PS3 and has 1080p support on alot of movies.

I prefer Sony's navigation and it really isn't down that much that I notice. Also, its free. Sony wins IMO.

xbox live is easier to navigate, it has far more games to download and every arcade game has a try before you buy option.
LIVE has no overly long downloads to then be followed by overly long installs to finally get the "update 1.02 is available to download" that leads to more downloads and installs.

xbox LIVE every time over PSN. perhaps Sony may fix this for PS4. but i'll not hold my breath while waiting.

They fixed it and added a lot more sweet ass features. The sen is advancing rapidly by leaps and bounds. They didnt buy gaikai for nothing.

fixed it? They made the experience slow down to a fucking crawl on my end... The older version of PSN was way faster.

XBL wins on features PSN+ wins in deals!

Live is always two steps ahead this gen so I really don't see that changing next gen. This is a MS strong point.

When you say the navigation is excellent are you referring to the marketplace or the UI in general? Because the 360 UI is terrible. XMB is far far better.

One is free the other isn't. The conversation should be over right there. MS also limits all developers to 24 players maximum online.

PSN has better indie games.

for PS3 I would say that XboxLive is definitely better. But from what I have heard for the PS4, I think they crapped on Microsofts bonfire in my opinion. That system is loaded with social content and since on the PS4 crossgame chat and stuff is free and you don't have to pay for such silly services like on Microsoft, yea they definitely took a dump on Microsoft.

I'm assuming crossgame chat is free.

Cross game chat most likely won't be free.

well you actually do have to pay monthly/yearly fees with insurance and registration depending on where you live I guess.......but I get what your saying...lol

insurance in the video game sense will be the ps protection plan lol...if anything breaks, they'll fix it for free

Microsoft will always win the OS war. They are known for building Operating Systems. Same goes for their Marketplace vs PS Store.

They may be known for building Operating systems but the recent one sure sucks and many Developers are not with it on the PC which is Windows 8 of course. Now I don't know how it will be on the Xbox, but yea many people are either sticking with windows 7 or following Steam with linux gaming.

Why would the operating system suck for developers? Developers make games based off the hardware, not the OS. This is not Windows 7 or 8, this is the operating system built for the Xbox console.

Still go with Xbox live, it has better Navigation through out its interface and it has a better selection.. Also it has an AVATAR you can dress and the set up is easier to understand

nope, Xbox can play 32 players like Homefront and can even let more player in one server in other games
