PS4 Will Support Cross-Game Chat

PS4 WILL SUPPORT CROSS-GAME CHAT

In a press release that accompanied Sony’s Playstation Meeting on February 20th, Sony confirmed the Playstation 4 will support cross-game chat. The feature has been long demanded by Playstation 3 owners, and is one of the few tangible advantages that Xbox Live still has over Playstation Network.

Parity and beyond with all of the Xbox 360′s network features was heavily implied when Sony’s Andrew House revealed the Dual Shock 4 would have a headphone jack and that the Playstation 4 would be bundled with a headset. With Sony closing the gap in online capability, and the tremendous value offered with Playstation Plus, Microsoft will have to demonstrate new value in Xbox Live if they want to justify continuing to charge for the service.

Seriously could not care less. ONe of the most pointless features of the XBOX. Have never used, have never come across any situation where I wish I had it on the PS3.

I didn't think there was any possibility this wouldn't happen. There was so many pleas for this for PS3 and it never happened. Think they are doing this as a service for all those people. I like the sound of Cross game chat. There are multiple times where I have to text message through psn when I want to talk to my friends.

Why is it pointless? It's actually a decent feature. You and a few friends can talk to each other while playing different games or doing different things on your console. It's better than skyping it up or having a conference call on your cell phone, haha.

Shit, I used the feature with friends while we watched NFL games all chillin' in a party chat. Might not be a feature for everyone, but its a nice feature. Especially if it will be free with PSN being free and all. This all but confirms that Xbox will be dead to me UNLESS the bring it super strong with their reveal.

I actually really enjoyed this feature very much during the short period of time that I owned a 360.

certainly looking forward to it on the PS4, I think I'll use it quite often.

was never really interested in cross game chat. I figure if im playing a game, and a friend of mine is playing a different game online hed just have to call my cell or text me, because on the rare occasion i actually DO play multiplayer games, i really only want to talk to the people playing in my own game. Its a nice idea for those people who do a lot of single player gaming who just wanna shoot the shit with their buddies but it really makes no difference to me. I like my gaming to be my space out time.

It's the only thing XBL currently has over PSN so I'm glad. Bout time but I wish they could have found a way to bring it to PS3.

All of my friends are on the PS3 so I can definitely use this features. I'm not talking about just online friends, I have real life friends on the PS3 and this crossgame chat would be a most welcome feature.
