Great news. I'm still going to stick with physical media but it's good to have options. They just need to price the digital genes more competitively.

One thing that I do hope that comes out of this, if I buy a physical copy of a game and I have to register it in some way I want to be able to download that title to all my consoles that I own so I could play it on several machines with only having to buy one copy of the title (and not need to disc to actually play it). I know on Google's Play store when you but something it links to your e-mail, so all the devices associated with that e-mail can use that software.

I'm still not convinced by buying games digitally
1. The price
2. DRM

I can agree with that! I understand why the DRM is there, but the prices they charge for all digital versions is bullshit! The movies are even worse, if you purchased to own some of the movies they have on their store (which I would never do!) it costs more than buying the physical copy!

whats so hard to believe about it? psn games will remain psn downloaded games and big budget games will release on blu-ray and also be available digitally...simple. he might imply that in the future all games will be downloaded, well the future is not the ps4 (maybe not even the next one after 4). unless something drastic happens in networking

As long as they start doing the cross buy for most of the games then that's great.

This is not a surprise seeing as they already do this with the Vita.

This really isn't hard to believe. As stated by ash, we already see this with the Vita and Sony currently does the Day One Release on PSN for all new PS3 games. Just makes sense and is a natural progression. It just means I might buy a game on impulse

But major releases are still going to be on disc.Last edited by Sir_Scud; 02-26-2013 at 04:02.

I wonder if they'll keep the 2 system download limit? If so, I'll download the titles that I don't plan on selling later down the line.
Prepare for meltdowns if these next gen console rumors are true. Phase 1: Denial. Phase 2: Mask a lie under "opinion" vs a fact. Phase 3: Bring up the PS3/360 era when it has nothing to do with the subject. Phase 4: Say that the power gap doesn't matter but constantly defend the weaker specs.

Great news, I really like downloadable titles on ps3 as they get to stretch the hybrid-HDD.

Sadly some games are not available and blu-ray still slows down loading. (IE. GT5.)'no, no one in their sane mind uses OpenGL on PS3' - Repi

The digital versions should be cheaper, or Sony should take Steam's route's and offer discounts and sales.

Yup, it's the bad part of it.
Although on some games the patches and updates can take pretty much the same time anyway.
What I really would love is an ability to sign your physical copy to your PSN account.
This would give you a choice for download/full install on all games, even for physical copies.'no, no one in their sane mind uses OpenGL on PS3' - Repi

Battlefield 3 man. If you will redownload all the patches, updates, and maps. It will take 10GB and you do the math until you will download them. I hate the PS3 because of that. I just hope so the PS4 won't do the same. If it does, I must find a solution for that because for sure the PS4 will have a problem as the PS3 and for sure I will download lots of games. I don't want to suffer doing the shit redownloading and wait ages.

Ps4 should at least have full background downloading so it should be nicer.
Just create huge download list and play something else.
