Damn, the PC guys must have threatened to rip his nuts off. After you read it, read the updated version.
PSnever tell a pc guy a console can keep up with their machine.
1. It probably cant
2. there is no worse insult to them. You can call their mother names, just dont go THERE.

The whole thing boils down to information we already know (the benefits of a closed platform) and "The PS4 is designed differently to PCs so it's next-gen and the PC isn't!" Which is rather ridiculous. I laughed a bit when I read the title, and I have to question the author's agenda here.
Realistically, this is just another case of the Cell processor all over again. "Look at how new and different it is! It's amazing! So next-gen!" Then the PC's outpaced it easily, making all that initial hype redundant. On a hardware front the consoles aren't designed to compete with PCs -- everyone needs to accept that. But this is only possible because it's versatile platform that can be upgraded. PC fanboys need to stop saying "You can build a PC matching PS4 performances for the same price!" No, you can't. Not right now anyways. But at the same time PS fanboys need to stop thinking their console will trump gaming PC's. Actually, fanboys all over just need to shut up.-No Feeble Cheering-

Actually this system is more equivelent to a lower-rang and partial mid-range PC from the specs I have seen. If a console is going to compete with a PC, that is all they need to compete with because I have said over and over again there is no need to compete with high end GPU cards. The games that utilize the full potential of a high end GPU is enough to count on one hand. Even after the 1 or 2 games that high end GPU takes advantage of, you will have to upgrade for that next high end game. So technically you used a $700+ GPU for 2 games.

So in that case no PC elitist should be braggin because just off of that they made themselves look like a complete "dinkus".
This is like a 7850 but slightly tweaked to be a tad bit more powerful but in terms of TFLOPS this doesn't even go over the 2.TFLOP mark so it's not that much closer to a 7870.

Considering the NVidia GTX 680 can do upwards of 3.2 TFlops of performance, it is a bit of a misnomer to think the PS4 will be even in the same league as a high end gaming PC. That being said, it has a very relevant structure and a lot of architectural advantages going into the next generation. It will certainly make some great looking and great performing games.

Anyone think MS big secret may be allowing it to play PC games via Windows?

I think Sony has held a few cards to their chest. I don't think anything radical will change with the hardware architecture per se, but all this buzz around SuperDAE and a few other things make me thing that the ensuing saga between MS and Sony is going to give us a LOT to talk about in the months to come. This E3 is going to be bedlam.

I can't wait for these new console to be released so PC gaming can slip back into irrelevancy.
