The majority of games won't do so well at that price range. I can see, Activision and EA doing that to their popular franchises like Call of Duty and Battlefield.

BOTTOM LINE- Sony p.s- pls dont force ur loyal gamers to bend over backwards coz *loyalty is a fragile attribute at tyms esp when the gaming company decides to get greedy*.
I like backwards compatibility, I'd prefer PS4 to have it
But its not gonna happen, and why should it?
not that many people care, in fact a lot of gamers will ignore current gen games coming out after the PS4 release because its not nextgen
So its understandable for Sony not to put it on thw high priority list, even with Gaikai ( I don't expect anything at launch)
And the game price increase is not even a announcement, it happens every gen, I paid £54.99 for my 3rd party launch games on PS3, first partys was cheaper
But it was the same with PS2, FFIX was £29.99 and Tekken Tag was £49.99
it happens every gen, why peop are shocked I do not know.

Yeah, we know that EA. Just greedy for money as its their best to do this as there won't be much games and everybody will pay. After when we will get lots of games then drop the price.

If I remember correctly EA games are also the most expensive at launch, £5-10 more usually

    This.

DICE are among the best game developers out there and I love every single one of their games (I'm still waiting for Mirror's Edge 2) so I'll just have to buy into EA as a publisher. You can't punish the talent among the real gamers (mostly found within the development studios) because of a greedy CEO.

Well, unless your name is Activision and you treat your employees like dirt (Infinity Ward says hello). I won't support them one bit.

    Thumbs down

Well this puts it in line with the crazy price rumors all over the net... but that means £50.00 price tag here in the UK and I am not on board with that price at all

    Thanks to Spyrde/Sylar

ShopTo currently have all the PS4 games listed for a RRP of £59.99, they have them at discounts already of course.

I hope that they don't put up the prices here, i know that Activision trialed a price point of £59.99 for one of there CoD games, have no idea how that went.

RRP of £49.99, but that almost never gets charged, all places immediately discount it.

MG Rising Revengeance RRP: £49.99 ShopTo £36.85

But some UK games priced at £35.99 and that is a great price... if the games for next-gen were priced at £45.00, I would happily buy them

    Thanks to Spyrde/Sylar

So EA want to charge an extra £5-£10 as well as implant a micro-transaction style business model into every one of their games. lol, EA, smh.

Some stick with normal you buy it, it's your business model. Some are going with F2P style micro-transactions. EA say, we'll have both thank you very much.

It's because of their current CEO John Riccitiello. That SoB is causing a lot of problems over there. They all need to get together and force that jackass to step down or just fire him. Kind of like how Howard Stringer had to step down, he was forced to. People don't just say, "okay i'm done." lolz

Lets also not forget about the price of N64 games, those were also $70 brand new.

They've already ruined DICE, gonna force them to make a new Battlefield every year. And honestly, EA is worse than Activision at this point, since Kotick has become less of a presence at Activision at least.

Thanks for updating Agriel. This falls more in line with the current price model at least for here in the States. I wonder if that 49.99 is categorizing games that are usually not AAA titles that fall about $10 cheaper or possibly pricing with DD in mind.

My guess is that they wanted to observe gamers reaction to this before risking a price jump for new games. But regardless, they'll end up doing it later on.

Of course they took it back, but imagine the first next gen Madden...$70 with only half the features from last year's attempt.
