I'm heavily into weight lifting, although I wouldn't consider myself a bodybuilder. However, I am very disciplined; I train 5 days per week, get up at 5.00 a.m. to train, and adhere to a very strict diet all year round.
As for my personal opinion of bodybuilders/weight lifters, I have nothing but respect for them. It's a very tough lifestyle, you have to dedicate a lot of time and energy to the sport and sometimes, make sacrifices in your personal life and other such other activities.
Personally I get frustrated with people who don't understand this lifestyle, as they just don't comprehend why it is important to the individual. My friend thinks it's "unhealthy" for me to eat the amount of meals I do, and not go out all that much. Unfortunately, lazy people such as him will never understand, and that's just how a lot of people are these days.

I can respect them..until they start dropping the weights on the floor a million goddamn times in one hour. Don't fucking do more than you can handle if you're going to drop shit like a douche.

IMO it looks disgusting when a guy is far too ripped, but for an athletic build yeah it's cool.
Personally though I'd rather put that dedication into learning martial arts that could actually save my ass someday, but of course you need to build muscle which obviously helps, but muscle isn't everything. Proof:

Or they grunt really loud. I call the grunts the "look at me" grunts.
Weight lifters/bodybuilders are like the reverse of obese people. Instead of making the CHOICE to eat mcdonalds and other fat foods they stick to a very strick diets and work out every day instead of sitting on their asses. More respect to them long as they not juicing up.

I don't mind the grunts, those are entertaining for me. But the weights being slammed on the ground like it's personal property is a no-no. Especially in a public gym with dozens of people working out at the same time, counting numbers in their head for sets and reps. I'm sorry, but a little goddamn respect to the equipment and courtesy to literally everyone else who's not dropping the weights goes a long way. This is exactly why I have to go late at night to avoid those gym jocks.

great post.
and you're not a bodybuilder unless you actually compete on stage. it's like calling someone a soccer player just because they kicked a soccer ball around their backyard few times lol
those people in the video are trained for lifting heavy ass weight not to build muscle
like who? pics? what makes someone 'too much'? vascularity, size, definition?
why do you have less respect if they're on gear? if someone is on gear and they actually know what their doing when they go to the gym rather than just few biceps curls and bench press, i have more respect for them.
i know what you mean, most of the people who lift heavy and drop the weights train for strength and they shouldn't be in a normal gym. in actual strength training and performance gyms, dropping the weights are encouraged lol

One of the most hilarious and shocking videos I have come across are the Synthol videos on YouTube, unbelievable how these lazy dbags would rather inject themselves with that shit that put in hard work. I would post a vid but I am at work right now.

lmao what's even more funny is the news articles talking about the man that has the worlds largest muscles naturally then posting a pic like this

most people have image problems but these people who take synthetic enhancing oils take muscle dysmorphia to a whole different level lol

I definitely respect them. They have a lot of discipline and are very consistent with what they do.

I think it takes a certain mindset to become a bodybuilder and a shit ton of work, sometimes I don't always like how it looks but i always respect them for getting to that level.
I've always loved this quote from Arnie
Someone out there at the same time is working hard, someone is getting smarter, remember that! I’ve always figured out that there is 24 hours a day, you sleep 6 hours. That means you have 18 hours left. I know that some of you out there answers: ‘wait a minute I sleep 8 or 9 hours’. Well, than sleep faster I recommend.
