Yeah that should make transferring stuff from the Ps4 to your PC much more simple.

Awesome, we can record then edit game footage and upload to YouTube and such.
With the Vita native res I believe they said remote play would be instantaneous. Much like the Wii U controller.

I really can't wait for this feature. Wish we'd seen more of it on PS3 but if every game is going to be remote play on the vita from PS4, that's a huge plus. Especially with the vita lacking abit in the games department (don't get me wrong there is some fantastic titles but it has dried up a bit). I for one will hammer this feature

I hope the remote play feature works as good as I am hoping...if it does I do see me picking up a PS Vita as well come launch time! Hopefully they will have a deluxe package that includes a Vita as well!

I love my vita, but PS4-Vita remote play for all PS4 games is a killer feature that will make a Vita a must have system. Sony would be wise to offer a deluxe bundle which includes both a PS4 and PS Vita console.

I hope they let us uninstall some of the vita shit that may come installed for those of us who don't care for it

I believe they should say no extra encoding required when transferring the video clips from PS4 to PC. I'm sure it's encode into an MPEG (maybe H.264 or H.265 format which would be good for Ustream and PS Vita remote play) on the fly by the GPU. The big question there (for the PS Vita especially) is the latency of this encoding and the decoding on the Vita. I'd have a hard time believing there's not a couple frames of added latency minimum, but should be reasonably at less than 100ms similar to a Gaikai experience on a very low latency connection.
Note that at >500K pixels and 24bit color * let's just say 30fps -> 360Mbps data rates for raw video stream. So it's most definitely encoded, but done on the fly.

Isn't there a dedicated chipset just for encoding video? I wanna know more about that, probably helps having GPU ram shared with CPU ram also.

Fucking music to my ears.
These promises Sony. No lag, Vita native res, developer mapping Vita controls into every PS4 game - you better deliver. The gif above me says it all. I'm willing to bet the Vita will be even more of a dead platform than it currently is after this feature goes live on PS4 which is sad, but eh - This is something I always wanted

still skeptical about all this shit! i remember phil harrison saying the same thing about the ps3 and demoing ingame chat and a bunch of other features that never happened...but one can only hope that the ps4 will be able to make this work

All this will depend on the quality of the internet the PS Vita uses. I guess 3G/4G won't be able to manage this, but what I'm curious about is if you have to have your PS4 on to relay Gaikai or just the PS Vita will connect to Gaikai ...

They indicated the PS3 was to act as a server playing the games for PS Vita and the Vita just having video streamed to it and sending inputs back.
I don't recall Sony saying anything about Gaikai gaming being available on the PS Vita, and if it is how it would be handled (Gaikai direct to the PS Vita would make more sense.)
For the PS Vita remote playing the PS3, I'd assume the majority of it would be done in house (at least my house it would be that way.) And unless you have things majorly F'd up w/ your WiFi it should be on the order of 1-2ms of network latency (the streaming of the video and decode to display on the PS Vita would be much much higher than that.)
Now if you got outside of that network and do it over the internet, there's going to be the mater of the Network the PS Vita is on and what type of internet network latencies your PS3 has as well.
