Nice hopefully this happens more often with Multi-Plats next GenAMD-based architecture of Sony’s upcoming console means it makes more sense to develop for the PC first and then port easily to the PS4 and presumably the next Xbox
Ubisoft has revealed that the lead platform for upcoming next-gen sandbox game Watch Dogs isn’t the PlayStation 4. Then again, it isn’t the next generation Xbox either. It’s the PC.
Speaking with Dutch site Insider Gamer, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot revealed that the company was using the PC as the lead platform for developing Watch Dogs. The reason?
Unlike this generation where it developed games for the Xbox 360 and then ported them over to the PS3, the AMD-based architecture of the PS4 means it makes more sense to develop for the PC and then port it over.
Whether he is hinting that the next Xbox will again have a PC-like architecture or not is unclear.
However, from Ubisoft’s perspective, the company is expecting a lot less problems porting gaming to and from the PS3. “We expect fewer problems with porting games to the PS4 than the PS3, which had a completely different infrastructure,” said Guillemot.
“Previously, we developed games first on the Xbox 360 and then translated them onto the PS3. It took a lot of time and money to port.”

Makes sense, considering the demo we saw at E3 was running on a high-end PC and the PS4 demo didn't look quite as good (especially during the slow-mo shooting).

I think it's smart. They are releasing it on every single console currently active, so makes sense they will all be ports of the pc version. Curious to how ps3/360 versions will turn out.
