-For the console itself very impressed. I went from considering not even buying a console next gen to maybe buying a PS4 day one.
-For games it wasnt very impressive since all the third party games we knew were coming except Deep Down and for first party all we got was Knack and sequels. Its nice we are getting another Killzone and inFamous but honestly i hope GG and SP make new IPs after these games.

hahahaha, be careful with those cheetos man.
"A guy goes to his doctor and says "Doc, ya gotta help me. My dick is turning orange!"
Doctor pauses to think and asks the guy to drop his pants so he can have a look. Damned if the guy's penis isn't orange! Doc tells the guy, "This is very strange. Sometimes things like this are caused by a lot of stress in a person's life. How are things going at work?"
The guy responds that he was fired 6 weeks ago. The doctor tells him that this must be the cause of the stress. Guy says "No, the boss was a real asshole, I had to work 20-30 hrs of overtime every week, and I had no say in anything that was happening. I found a new job a couple weeks ago where I can set my own hours, I'm getting twice my old pay, and the boss is real cool."
So the doc thinks a little longer and says "Well, do you have any hobbies or a social life?" Guy says, "No, most nights I just sit at home watching porno flicks and eating Cheetos."

I agree with those observations except the CPU. I'm disappointed with the CPU but not extremely like you. I'm fairly disappointed.
As for graphics? I was disappointed and it's becoming clear that the law of diminishing returns is really starting to show this next generation. I expect no different out of the xbox 720 either.
As someone said on their sig.... GDDR5 has become this next-gen's equivalent of the Cell gloating point of this gen. Looks good on paper, but not likely to make that much of a huge difference in the end. After the first year of the PS3's release, the gloats about the Cell quickly faded as the general reality set in that it wasn't making the huge difference that was hyped. Devs that didn't do well with the Cell were called lazy. Sony dropping it after only one console generation is sweet vindication for the devs who were raked over the coals.
I figure both consoles will be pretty even again.

Potential is there, but I'll wait a while before I pass judgment.

I have been pretty impressed because its a new system which means it will provide something different and experience as well. As it has a new technology built in it, and the games will look some how better on it and we will see different services or features. So, overall Iam happy to see it.

Don't count on GG and SP stepping away, that's all either has made in the last 8yrs+, if they do step away it will most likely be the end of the line for their respective current franchise.
I think you'll get what you want at E3 with more unique developments from 3rd parties.

I don't think that would be a bad thing. I'm tired of the endless cycle of sequels from both consoles. I would be quite happy if I never saw another Killzone, inFamous, Halo, or Gears of War game. You can pretty up the graphics all you like, but in the end it's still just more of the same.
Starting a new ip allows developers to branch out more, try different things, and get more creative without having to worry about destroying the mythos or continuity for fans. It's a new generation, I'm ready for something really new, not just more of the same with a new paint job.

I am pretty impressed, but if theres one thing I have learned in my years of buying ANYTHING, it's best (for me) to wait a while after it's release to buy it. For me I think that it gives the system time to iron out its bugs (if any), allows more of a sound video game collection to be established (I hated waiting for so long to get a great RPG on the PS3 at launch), and maybe even a price drop. I just bought a Vita last week and I love it, but if I had bought it a year ago at more of a cost and actually had to wait for the games to come out it might be sour.
And not to mention, the PS3 had a whopping 40/50/60Gig hard drive in it, didn't it? The Vita is undergoing plans to add all these features? I think I rest my case on waiting a while. :P

I agree with you that spinning a new game line brings out great advancements. Having said that I wouldn't want to see my favorites done away with. Personally, while I played KZ and InF they aren't my favorites and I'd be happy if GZ and SP went to tackle another new game in place of them. That said, I'd be extremely upset if ND stop doing Uncharted. I like the idea of them branching out with the Last of US and I think they could become a 2 game developer studio and cross pollinating the ideas between the development. They're that good IMO.
Some franchise just need to go away and start with something new though. I think at E3 you'll see some more stepping out to do something new from various devs for both new platforms.

Games were disappointing, Only game that blew me away was Watchdogs....Maybe Clubdrive but Evolution Studio's trailers need to be taken with a pinch of salt.
The thing im most impressed about is the redesigned controller! Looks excellent and far better than dual shock.
Really looking forward to E3, That's when Sony will show off their best games i reckon. To me they just jumped out the traps a little to early and were not quite ready for a proper reveal (No sign of console, Move, Online System or more 1st party games)Last edited by Flaw3d Genius; 02-28-2013 at 18:04.

I'm impressed. They're delivering the most power that they can without having "599 US DOLLARS"
I'm just as excited for the new features as I am the games. Being able to put games into standby and the system into low power state is awesome. No more waiting forever for logos to go by that can't be skipped. The trackpad on the controller could be great for in game maps, menus and a web browser.
E3 will be where we see the real bulk of games being developed.
