Saints Row 4 rumored for August, Deep Silver talks "huge" plans for PAX East

Deep Silver has something “huge” planned for PAX East, and the buzzing on Twitter points to possible news on Saints Row 4, which the firm’s parent company picked up during the THQ auction.

According to a tweet from the firm’s Aubrey Norris: “Dear Media: You’re going to want to be at PAX East this year. If not, you’re going to be missing out on something HUGE. Just FYI!”

Lots of poking and prodding from her followers yielded nothing; however, a tweet from Chris Stockman, who was design director on Saints Row 1 and is currently lead designer at Human Head, tweeted he’s heard “around the campfire” that the game is slated for current-gen consoles in August.

While it’s entirely possible that some news regarding Volition could be announced during the event, GTA 5 is set for a September which would put SR4 on retail shelves a month before Rockstar’s release. This would either be an odd move on Koch’s part or a very ballsy one.

We’ll all just have to wait and find out what Deep Silver has in store for the world March 22-24 when PAX East invades Boston.

Not really interested if it has nothing to do with finding Dex.

I'll buy this used later down the line. They can fuck off after sr3. Side missions masked as main missions. Cut content just to make it dlc.

No thank you. I'll be gaming DRM free on a stronger console for $100 cheaper instead

Sony trolled MS. PS4 fans didn't do it. We just laughed at MS and anyone getting mad. $399 FTW!

It's quite fun and I'm still currently playing it. Definitely a more interactive world than GTAIV (which GTA fans like to conveniently forget...) .

If we're talking about game worlds, I find GTA to have more interesting maps, interiors, landmarks etc. Though I am a little biased (GTA III era fanatic). I've found that the Saints Row games, at least The Third, suffer from a lot of copying and pasting of game assets so nothing truly feels unique.

Interesting if you're a resident or have visited the places they've modeled each city after. Otherwise, it's a dull empty game once the story parts are over. In Saints Row; pasted or not; you can do stuff in it. Which is the point of games imo. Otherwise we can all just go look at a painting or fire up Google Earth.

This is strictly GTAIV and not the whole series. As that was what my previous post was comparing.

I tend to roleplay (make up my own scenarios) after completing open world games so I guess the amount of things to do doesn't really concern me. It's why I continued to play GTA IV, even if it fell short of the GTA III era games.

Not saying I didn't put a lot of hours into Saints Row: The Third. I think with this generation, for me it went something like GTA IV (PS3) at over 200 hours, Saints Row: The Third (PC) at 103 hours and Sleeping Dogs (PC) at 78 hours.

Fair enough. I actually do this with sports games too.

Just wait till Watchdogs hits the shelves. If you like to do that roleplay stuff I am sure Watch Dogs falls right in that category for you.
